- is the spouse or child of a work-permitted economic class permanent residence applicant.
Not eligible:
- Spouses and children of low-wage Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program and Temporary Foreign Worker Program workers with TEER 4 or 5.
Canada’s temporary worker definition?
Temporary workers in Canada are non-citizens who have been granted authorization to work. A work permit outlines the worker’s stay, employer, and job.
Agriculture, hospitality, construction, healthcare, and technology employ temporary labor. They may be employed to cover short-term employment, meet seasonal demand, or provide particular skills or knowledge that are scarce in Canada.
Temporary workers are subject to Canadian labor laws and regulations. Temporary workers must receive the same minimum wage, hours, and safety standards as Canadian workers.
Moreover, Temporary workers fill labor shortages and boost the Canadian economy. However, employers and policymakers must treat temporary workers fairly and help them succeed in their roles.
