THE ACCRA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (AIT), — A DYNAMIC LEADING PRIVATE TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY IN GHANA, IS LOOKING FOR QUALIFIED AND HIGHLY MOTIVATED INDIVIDUALS FOR THE FOLLOWING FACULTY (ACADEMIC) & ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATION FULL-TIME POSITION: SENIOR LECTURER – COMPUTER ENGINEERING / ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- You will undertake teaching and assessment in engineering and technology modules, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, in Electronic and Electrical Engineering.
- You will also support learning through design and development of course materials including online content and undertaking necessary tutorial, laboratory and administrative activities.
- You will be expected to contribute actively to research interests of the school and develop short courses, commercial and KTP related activities in the school.
- You will supervise postgraduate research projects and apply for external funding to support research and commercial activities.
- For the role of Senior Lecturer, you will also undertake an administrative role in the School such as Module Leadership, assisting with programme management, or other similar duties, provide leadership in an aspect of research or commercial activities and undertake other duties within the framework of the post as delegated by the Head of Department or Head of Subject Group.
Skills and Experience
- You must have experience of working in one or more of mobile communication systems, signal processing for wireless communications, and FPGA and embedded systems within Higher Education or in a relevant sector.
- In addition to this you will need proven experience of teaching or tutoring at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- You must have a strong commitment to teaching, learning and student support at University level and a potential willingness to attract external funding.
- You will have demonstrable proficiency in English Language, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- You must have a strong desire to enthuse and engage our students and a willingness to contribute to the wider development of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
- For the role of Senior Lecturer, you must have substantial experience of delivery in Electronic Engineering, particularly in the areas of mobile communication systems, signal processing for wireless communications, and FPGA and embedded systems.
- You will also be required to have a strong track record of research publications and/or industrial experience and evidence of securing external funding.
- In addition to this, you must have the knowledge to be able to contribute to the school’s teaching and research areas in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Qualifications Required
- You must hold a minimum of a first degree (or equivalent level 6 qualification) in Electronic and Electrical Engineering or related subject area, or equivalent level 6 qualification. A Fellowship of AdvanceHE would also be advantageous.
- The role of Senior Lecturer will also require a doctorate, or close to competition (within 3 months of viva), in Electronic and Electrical Engineering or related subject area, or equivalent level 8 qualification.
