About the job

Rizzani de Eccher is looking for a Project Manager for an iconic building project in Ghana.

The Project Manager will be responsible for:

  • pursuing the target and improving his project’s efficiency, in accordance with the indications received from Operations Executive/Area Director/Manager;
  • ensuring compliance with company’s policies and operational guidelines, coordinating with corporate function to adjust them to local needs;
  • ensuring effective planning, production, budget management, supervising the progress of the construction activities, to be following the expected budget guidelines and deadline, including planning, safety, quality, cost-tracking, scheduling and workforce management;
  • managing the kick-off meeting, providing all the necessary information for the proper execution of the activities;
  • preparing the budget, cash-flow and other reports, based on the contract agreed with the client;
  • preparing and executing the Project Management Plan (PMP), defining the timing for the project’s needs, in terms of material, personnel, equipment, managing the creation and emission of the purchasing requests (PDA RdE), with the support of the Procurement Office;
  • cooperating with procurement staff to the suppliers’ selection, evaluating the technical contents of the offers received, approving the final quotations and conditions negotiated directly by the Procurement Office;
  • providing indications above the registration of the incoming materials, especially for those for which it has expected a periodic comparison with the suppliers through working progress reports;
  • managing relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors, consultants, resolving potential conflicts between the company and its stakeholders possibly arising at every stage of the project, requiring support to Operations Executive/Area Director/Manager when necessary;
  • supporting the preparation and management of contracts, with the involvement of Legal Dept., as well as overseeing all the contract management activities including change orders and claims;
  • assuring contract compliance with regulations and standards applicable to the project such as health and safety and environment protection;
  • guaranteeing a full and complete communication to and from the HQ and works in strict contact with all the HQ Central Services;
  • managing the mobilization of personnel, machinery and equipment from and to the area/project, coordinating respectively with HR and Plant and Equipment offices

Qualifications

  • knowledge of the field of construction and familiarity with construction techniques to be able to select the most significant projects in terms of the various opportunities;
  • knowledge of contracts, legal issues, and safety standards;
  • excellent knowledge of English and, preferably, knowledge also of other languages (French, Spanish, Russian);
  • familiarity with the legislation concerting works contracts and public works and the relevant laws;
  • university degree in engineering, business management, or the law;
  • at least 10 years of relevant experience in similar roles within construction and engineering field/projects;
  • site and/or engineering studio experience within a multicultural and international environment;
