Arm is seeking an experienced Principal Verification Engineer to join its Systems Media IP team in Bristol. The successful candidate will lead the verification of next-generation Image Signal Processors (ISPs), Display Processors, and Video Codecs used across automotive, IoT, and client computing markets.
The role involves architecting advanced verification environments, improving verification methodologies, mentoring engineers, and collaborating across multiple engineering teams to deliver high-quality hardware IP for millions of devices worldwide.

Job Duties
- Lead verification activities for unit-level, multi-unit, or complete Media IP projects, including ISPs, Display Processors, and Video Codecs.
- Architect verification IP and comprehensive hardware verification environments.
- Review and assess proposed design changes from a verification complexity perspective.
- Analyze simulation data using machine learning and data science techniques to improve bug detection and debugging efficiency.
- Identify and implement process and methodology improvements across Media IP verification workflows.
- Collaborate with Arm engineering teams to deliver high-quality and reliable hardware IP.
- Develop and enhance reusable, scalable verification environments and testbenches.
- Support technical leadership initiatives while mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
- Drive continuous improvements in verification quality, performance, and engineering best practices.
Job Requirements
- Extensive experience with constrained-random verification and ownership of complex verification environments.
- Strong expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM (SV-UVM) for developing scalable verification code and testbenches.
- Proficiency in scripting to support verification workflows and automation.
- Strong software engineering knowledge, including object-oriented programming, algorithms, and data structures.
- Experience using industry-standard verification tools and completing end-to-end hardware verification processes.
- Previous technical leadership or team leadership experience.
- Experience with multiprocessing microarchitecture and AMBA protocols such as APB, AHB, or AXI is desirable.
- Knowledge of formal verification methodologies is advantageous.
- Experience with video codecs, image signal processing, display technologies, or advanced image processing algorithms is preferred.
- Familiarity with Functional Safety standards such as ISO 26262 or IEC 61508 and Continuous Integration workflows is beneficial.
