The Hunger Project-Ghana, an International Non-profit Development Organisation invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the following vacant position:
Director of Programmess
The Director of Programmes supports the efficient od successful implementation of the Organisation’s Programmes in Chana. The person will be responsible for Project Field Staff in the identification, planning and implementation of multifaceted development initiatives to ensure community empowerment, an optimal project in the determination, collection and processing of data required for effective Programme/Project team in the identification and effective implementation of interagency collaboration within the partner communities to derive synergistic effects. This is a full-time position and reports to the Country Director
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitate the design and implementation of Project Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems to effectively track all project activities, outcomes, and impacts:
Provide leadership in the preparation and submissions of coherent, accurate and timely Quarterly and Annual Project Reports to the Country Director;
Coordinate the preparation and synthesis of Annual Work Programmes and Midgets and ensure budgetary control regarding all ongoing projects:
Monitor the effective use of Field Project Vehicles and other equipment ensuring adherence to timely maintenance schedules:
Work closely with the Country Director and Project team to design and implement periodic training programmes for Project Staff, for our purposes of efficient and effective delivery of planned development projects in the partner communities
Provide advocacy support to Project Offices and Community partners at the local levels
Undertake other activities as may be determined by the Country Director
Human resources and Capacity building:
Supervise Project staff and the national service officers
Provide training to Project staff and community partners on an as-needed basis to build their capacity in topics related to the
Organisation’s programmes Provide training to groups targeted for community partners in leadership and management skills,
Strategic development:
Actively participate in planning and writing of detailed project proposals outlining the goal, outcomes, and activities of the organisation’s Programes:
Provide strategic recommendations to enhance financial performance
Develop a risk management strategy, and institute risk-mitigating processes
Maintain in-depth knowledge of the latest industry developments
QUALIFICATION
Advanced degree in Agribusiness, Agric. Extension or Planning
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Development or any related field
Previous experience in Integrated development and reach is highly desirables
Problem-solving planning, effective Communication and organising commands:
High energy and strong work ethics and high commitment to the organisation’s mission and values;
Must be willing and able to travel domestically at least 50% of the time in rural and remote areas.
