New Express Entry for Skilled Workers & 20,000+ PR

We’ll discuss eligible international applicants who are asked to apply through Canada’s express entry procedure in this article. Express entry invitations to Canada fell by 59% to 46,539, with 20,769 Indians pleading for invitations to apply for permanent residency.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has extended Invitations to Apply (ITA) to foreign nationals seeking immigration to Canada in a new Express Entry round of invites. The invitations to apply for permanent residence through Canada’s express entry system are listed below.

For consideration for an ITA, a total ranking system score of at least 504 was necessary. However, the cutoff is determined by the date and time that candidates submit their Express Entry profiles if more than one candidate gets the lowest score.

The IRCC has invited 3,000 applicants to participate in an all-program draw. The federal skilled worker program, Canadian experience class, federal skilled trades program, and provincial nominee program are all subject to the invitations to apply.

An eligible foreign national must place among the top 3000 eligible foreign nationals in the general ranking to get an invitation to apply for this round of invitations. Throughout the year, IRCC conducts three separate rounds of invites.

  • General rounds of invitations
  • Program-specific rounds of invitations
  • Category-based rounds of invitations

Express Entry

Express entry manages applications for three immigration programs

  • Federal skilled worker program
  • Federal skilled trades program
  • Canadian experience class

Before delivering invitations to the top-ranking candidates in the pool who are qualified, a category to achieve a particular economic goal is formed for rounds of invitations based on categories. To be included in the pool for this category, one must be qualified for one of the three programs run by Express Entry.

In May of this year, IRCC announced that it would start selecting Express entry candidates in drawings based on a single criterion rather than their entire CRS score. Six new categories for in-demand professions and freshmen with strong French language proficiency were subsequently established.

The five occupational categories are as follows

  • Healthcare
  • STEM professions
  • Trades
  • Transport
  • Agriculture and agri-food

2022 Canada’s Express Entry Invites

In 2022 compared to 2021, fewer immigrants were invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada under the express entry system, a 59% decrease. Indians continued to receive the most invitations, followed by Nigerian and Chinese nationals. The temporary suspension of drawings for the federal skilled immigrant programs is to blame for the decrease in invitations.

Under Canada’s point-based Express entry system, there were only 46,539 immigrants invited to seek permanent residence in 2022. This represents a startling 59% decrease from the figure of 1.14 million invitations from the previous year. However, as they did for several years, Indians remained at the top of the list.

20,769 Indian nationals received invitations to become permanent residents in 2022, making up roughly 45% of all invitations sent out during this year. Nigerians came in second with 2,909 invitations (6%) followed by Chinese with 2,456 invitations (5%) received.

The Express Entrance Report 2022, which offers country-specific information, has just been released by the Canadian government’s immigration duration section. According to specialists on immigration, the temporary suspension of drawings for Federal skilled immigrant programs between September 2021 and July 2022 is what caused the decreased number of draws in 2022.

Three main programs make up the express entry system. The federal skilled worker program typically makes the largest contribution to the admission of permanent residents. The IRCC held 1.14 lock Express entry drawings in 2021, bringing in 65,565. Indians received invitations to apply for permanent residency, accounting for 57% of the total. South Koreans received 3,131 invitations, or about 3%, while Chinese received 9,590 invites, or 8%, respectively.

Software engineers and designers, information systems specialists, computer system developers, and programmers, all of which are related to the technological sphere, were the most popular vocations in 2022, as they were in previous years. Aspiring applicants ranked one another in each draw using a score as part of the comprehensive ranking system.

Those who achieve the required score receive an application invitation. Candidates who get an Invitation to Apply have 90 days to accept or decline the invitation, or to file an online application for permanent residency to IRCC taking into account different variables such as age, qualification, experience, and French ability at Al.

Following due process, applicants and any accompanying family members receive acceptance to Canada as permanent residents. Data compiled for the year 2023 to the present shows that 29 drawings have taken place in 79,448 and that bytes rewarded a significant number of permanent residences.

Current Express Entry Target

The express entry system now employed for entry. It is uncertain whether Canada will meet its goal of 4.65 lock permanent residents in 2023 given the strained relations with India, the largest supply country, and the severe housing crisis.

Recently, category-based selection and changes to express entry draws now implemented. During the category-based selection drawing in 2023, the emphasis lies greatly on candidates with a solid command of French or professional expertise in the following areas:

  • Healthcare occupations: general practitioners, licensed nurses, dentists
  • STEM occupations: data scientists, data analysts, computer engineers, civil engineers
  • Trade occupations: carpenters, plumbers, electricians
  • Transport occupations: pilots, aero engineers, truck drivers
  • Agriculture and agri-food occupations

Final Thoughts

According to a thorough analysis of the data from drawings done in 2023, a stem-specific draw held on July 5 produced 500 invitations. The cutoff mark was 486 points. A day later, a draw for healthcare occupations produced 1,500 invitations, with a cut-off score of 463 points. More recently, on September 20, the transport occupation received 1000 invitations after the draw, with a cut-off score of 435 points.
