POSITION: Client Service Officer (Loan Officer)
VisionFund Ghana is seeking a Client Service Officer (Loan Officer) for permanent roles in Obuasi and Tamale. If you hold an HND in Marketing, a first degree in any discipline (Marketing or Accountancy preferred), or a certificate in Agriculture and Rural Development with fieldwork experience, and want to work with a microfinance institution that has zero tolerance for violence or abuse, this role offers the perfect opportunity to serve as the vital link between VisionFund Ghana and our clients.

As a Client Service Officer, you will not simply process loans; you will identify client needs, promote products, disburse funds, monitor repayments, and safeguard vulnerable populations.
Your Mission
You will serve as the link between VisionFund Ghana and our clients, focusing on need identification, product promotion, loan disbursements, repayments, and business monitoring. Your ability to assess the viability of prospective borrowers’ businesses, ensure pre and post draw down conditions, and prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports will determine your success. Additionally, you must reside or be willing to live in Obuasi or Tamale, and the ability to ride a motorbike gives you a distinct advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Your role spans business viability assessment, loan conditions, timely disbursement, repayment monitoring, and reporting. Here is what you will tackle:
Business Viability Assessment
- You will assess the viability of prospective borrowers’ businesses, making recommendations for advancing micro loans.
- Understanding each business’s cash flow, collateral, and character helps you lend responsibly.
Loan Conditions Management
- You will ensure all pre and post draw down conditions are met by clients before and after loan disbursement.
- Verifying documentation, guarantors, and business registrations protects the portfolio.
Timely Disbursement
- You will facilitate timely disbursement of loans to clients, ensuring funds reach borrowers when they need them.
- Processing paperwork efficiently prevents delays that frustrate clients and stall their businesses.
Repayment Monitoring
- You will assess and monitor borrowers’ business operations to ensure timely loan repayment.
- Tracking sales, inventory, and cash flow helps you spot potential defaults before they happen.
Reporting
- You will prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, keeping management informed of portfolio performance.
- Clean, accurate reports support data driven decision making.
What You Bring to the Role

Qualification
- HND in Marketing or a good first degree in any discipline, especially Marketing or Accountancy.
- Certificate holders in Agriculture and Rural Development with fieldwork experience are also welcome.
National Service
- You must have completed National Service.
Location Requirement
- You must reside or be willing to live in Obuasi or Tamale (depending on the position you apply for).
Advantageous Skills
- Ability to ride a motorbike gives you a distinct advantage, as many clients are located in rural or hard to reach areas.
Personal Attributes
