POSITION: Client Relationship Officer
Advans Ghana is seeking a Client Relationship Officer to join our branch team. Your Mission
You will take responsibility for prospecting for clients, appraising loan applicants, and monitoring and developing your loan and deposit portfolio. Your focus will span commercial activities, loan activities, administrative documentation, and portfolio analysis. Your ability to spend most of your time on the field, speaking local languages and adapting your communication to each client, will build the trust needed for long term relationships.

Your role spans commercial prospecting, loan appraisal, client follow up, administrative documentation, and performance analysis. Here is what you will tackle:
Commercial Activities
- Firstly, You will organize prospecting and communication actions in your intervention zone, collaborating with colleagues and other staff members.
- Secondly, Introducing Advans Ghana products and services to the target population requires clear, persuasive communication.
- Then, Following up with prospects through regular contact turns potential clients into active borrowers and savers.
- Also, Proposing new products and services to your current clients deepens relationships and increases wallet share.
- Moreover, Identifying client needs and proposing new products or services to management feeds our product development pipeline.
- Afterwards, Encouraging clients to open deposit accounts and meeting savings targets builds financial resilience for clients and stable funding for Advans.
- Finally, Ensuring every customer receives outstanding service means greeting and acknowledging each person, maintaining solid product knowledge, and creating a friendly environment.
Loan Activities
- You will assist clients with loan applications, guiding them through paperwork and requirements.
- Conducting loan appraisals on the field requires collecting detailed information on personal circumstances, business operations, and guaranties.
- Presenting loan requests to the loan committee requires clear, accurate documentation and persuasive presentation.
- Organizing recovery actions in case of late repayment protects the portfolio and helps clients get back on track.
- Maintaining regular contact with clients by organizing field visits keeps you informed of their business performance and challenges.
- Becoming a respected, active stakeholder in your intervention zone means spending most of your time on the field and creating trusting relationships with small business owners.
Administrative Activities
- You will keep complete, detailed documentation on each client, ensuring files are audit ready and accessible.
Organization & Control
- You will prepare a weekly plan with expected tasks and visits, keeping yourself organized and accountable.
- Sharing information and best practices with staff strengthens the entire team.
- Reporting all job related issues to your immediate supervisor ensures problems receive timely attention.
- Analyzing the client portfolio using operational reports helps you spot trends, identify risks, and celebrate successes.
Performance Criteria
You will demonstrate ability to:
- Meet quantitative and qualitative objectives determined by the operations department and branch manager.
- Represent Advans Ghana professionally and dynamically in the branch and the field.
- Respect policies and procedures at all times.
- Manage information using the MIS and keep accurate records in client files.
- Communicate clearly, transparently, and accurately with clients.

- Become a key stakeholder in your intervention zone.
- Adapt your communication to different clientele by speaking local languages and adjusting your language level.

- Prospecting, client and guarantor visits, loan disbursement, and recovery.

- Dealing with difficult clients who may be frustrated or struggling financially.
- Commuting between different locations across your intervention zone.
- Spending 80% of your work time on the field engaging customers, which requires physical stamina and time management.
What You Bring to the Role
We are looking for a candidate with the right education, experience, and practical knowledge. Here is what you need:
Education
- At least a Diploma, Higher National Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience
- A minimum of one year of working experience (National Service inclusive).
Skills & Knowledge
- Good mathematical ability for calculating loan amounts, interest, and repayment schedules.
- Market appraisal skills for evaluating business viability and collateral.
- Knowledge of accounting basics.
- Practical knowledge of micro and small businesses and the market environment gives you a distinct advantage.
- Ability to speak local languages and adapt communication to different client types.
