Job Duties
- Develop and deliver technical engineering solutions to customers in the aluminium and non-ferrous metals sector.
- Support investigations into manufacturing problems and recommend effective, data-driven solutions.
- Work with clients on continuous improvement programmes across production and process efficiency.
- Support investment and expansion projects from a technical and engineering perspective.
- Engage with external customers to develop project proposals and expand business opportunities.
- Contribute to applied research, process optimisation, and advanced manufacturing innovation initiatives.
- Travel to customer sites within the UK and internationally as required for project delivery and consultancy support.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of four years industrial experience in aluminium or non-ferrous metals manufacturing environments.
- Experience in production processes such as casting, extrusion, rolling, fabrication, or recycling operations.
- Strong analytical and root cause investigation skills with ability to develop practical engineering solutions.
- Experience working across multiple manufacturing sites or process environments.
- Strong technical reporting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis, interpretation, and reporting using engineering tools and software.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in advanced manufacturing environments or consultancy-based engineering roles.
- Exposure to process modelling, simulation tools, or manufacturing optimisation software.
- Experience working in global industrial or multi-site engineering environments.
