Latest Canada Express Entry & PNP Draws 2024 For Skilled Workers & Graduates

Latest Canada Express Entry & PNP Draws 2024 For Skilled Workers & Graduates

Three provinces have submitted their shortlisted applicants in the ongoing search for qualified workers and individuals with certain qualifications. Join us as we examine the most recent nominations and their implications for immigration prospects.

Candidates are encouraged to submit their applications for provincial nomination this week in Ontario, British Columbia, and Manitoba. Except for Quebec and Nunavut, every Canadian province and territory has the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) in place to propose economic immigration applicants with the best chance of assimilating into the local workforce and economy.

Provinces frequently host draws wherein candidates with certain, in-demand human capital traits are targeted. Certain PNP draws, for instance, ask applicants to apply for a nomination if they are foreign students who completed their studies in the province or if they are employed.

Candidates must first acquire an Expression of Interest (EOI) from the provincial government that they applied to, or, in the case of Express Entry candidates, from the government that selected them, to be considered for a nomination. Next, candidates need to submit an application to The Province for a nomination.

When submitting an application for permanent resident status to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), those who are successfully nominated will have a far stronger application. When granting an EOI, the majority of provinces take into account a candidate’s minimal score because similar to Express Entry, these candidates are assigned scores based on human capital considerations; however, the provincial scoring system is used to determine these scores rather than the federal comprehensive ranking system (CRS).

To be considered, candidates had to receive a minimum score of 66.

684 individuals were invited to the last draw, which focused on tech and healthcare jobs. A minimum score of 72 was necessary for these applicants. Eleven applicants were also extended an invitation by the province via the employer employment offer foreign workers stream. Candidates in the Economic Mobility Pathways project were the focus of this stream.

British Columbia

British Columbia also held five targeted drawings for vocations on March 12th, inviting over 187 qualified workers and overseas graduate candidates. For Tech vocations, a minimum score of 113 was required of the 65 candidates in a draw. This draw was the biggest and required the highest minimum score.

Additionally, 30 candidates with a minimum score of 80 in construction jobs were invited by the province. To be eligible for the last three drawings, candidates had to receive a minimum score of 75. 38 candidates were invited for healthcare, 54 candidates for child care, and fewer than five candidates for veterinary care.
