Killam Scholarship and Prize Programs at UBC for 2023
The Killam Doctoral Scholarships 2023–2024 to Study in Canada are now accepting applications. Through Dorothy J. Killam’s will and gifts received during her lifetime, the Killam Scholarship and Prize Programs were created in honor of Izaak Walton Killam.
The funding’s primary objective is to advance higher learning and research at the five Canadian universities and the Canada Council for the Arts. One of the many prominent grants given to postgraduate students attending the University of British Columbia is the Killam Doctoral Scholarship. In the Affiliated Fellowships competition, the top Ph.D. applicants accept about 15 to 20 scholarship prizes each year.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for financing from the Killam Scholarship to study in Canada;
- Prior to the scholarship’s start date, candidates must have finished their doctoral studies in no more than 24 months.
- Therefore, by the beginning of 1 September 2023, candidates for the 2023–2024 competition must have finished no more than 24 months of Ph.D. studies.
Prize Benefits
- Coverage of tuition
- A two-year payment of $30,000 each year
- Plus an additional $2,000 to cover travel expenses for study.
