NATIONAL SERVICE PERSONNEL DIRECTED TO MAKE MANDATORY PAID-LEAVE

In view of the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s precautionary directives on Coronavirus (COVID-19); in furtherance of the Scheme’s earlier statement requiring public gathering of its staff and national service personnel to be suspended till further notice and in compliance to the Public Services Commission’s circular recommending that all interns, national service personnel, NABCO officers, and other non-essential staff could take their leave, Management of the scheme by this statement directs that;

  •  All national Service Personnel are to take their mandatory paid-annual leave effective Thursday, 26th March, 2020 till the end of April 2020.
  • All newly-posted nurses who are due to start national service in April 2020, are also to take the month of April 2020 as their terminal leave.

This special arrangement replaces the annual terminal leave granted to all national service personnel under the NSS ACT 426, which is the last month of their national service.

Management of the Scheme is committed to the safety and welfare of all national service personnel nations wide and therefore directs all user agencies and national service personnel to comply accordingly, to mitigate the spread of the CORONAVIRUS.

Thank you.

  1. What about those of us who did top up nd are doing our national service? Should we stop nd still go to work? Is the value not the same, I think something must be done about it because we are already at work, so I think we should be allowed to continue, because we are always at work if not in school, so please do something about it, my humble suggestion, thanks
