JOB VACANCY FOR PRINCIPAL PHYSIOTHERAPIST I

The Ministry of Health exists to promote and provide integrated, holistic and sustainable preventative, curative, and rehabilitative quality health services to the nation

VACANCY: PRINCIPAL PHYSIOTHERAPIST I

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the above position in the Ministry of Health, Department of Health Service Management, tenable at various facilities

• VACANCY NO:  31 of 2022
• SALARY: 01 (P6,340.00-1291,640.00 per annum)

BENEFITS:

• Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50s, Employee pays)
• A contract of 34-36 months with gratuity of 30% payable at the end of contract.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of Bachelor of Science Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy or Physical Therapy
• At least two (2) year’s work experience as Senior Physiotherapist or eight ( year’s work experience in a relevant field.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Physiotherapy service delivery in health facilities.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

1. Firstly, Conduct assessment, diagnoses and treatment of referred patients
2. Secondly, Coordinates and promotion of health education through health talk, lectures, exhibitions and different types of media.
3. Thirdly, Monitors home visits for discharged ne fully functional patients
4. Furthermore, Monitors the education of patients and their families about their condition and treatment.
5. More so, Develops and formulates physiotherapy condition protocol
6. Afterwards, Monitors and evaluates provision of outreach services to designated areas.
7. Thereafter, Develops physiotherapy educational material
8. Moreover, Monitors the physiotherapy in-service training in the facility
9. Additionally, Participates in the reviewing and evaluation of physiotherapy policies and procedures.
10. Then, Participates in the development of the budget estimates,
11. Also, Compiles recommendations for physiotherapy equipment.
12. Last but not least, Develop and maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practice in clinical area.
13. Finally, Coordinates and conduct in-service training
