POSITION: Accounting Officer
Job Description
A reputable and fast-growing poultry farm in Gbugblah, Ga South District, Greater Accra, near the main town of Adieso, needs a Junior Staff member to fill the role of Accounting Officer. This person will be in charge of all of the company’s financial, administrative, and accounting needs.
SUMMARY:
The Accounting Officer is in charge of posting and processing all financial transactions and recording them in the accounting software. He or she works under the supervision of the Finance Director.
The Accounting Officer will use his or her knowledge to help manage the financial and operational risks of the company and help with management tasks. He or she must be able to solve problems and think critically in order to make sure that all financial operations are done in accordance with all legal policies and procedures and the company’s own. He or she would be expected to help the company grow in a number of different ways.
Responsibilities
- Taking care of the business’s finances and accounting on a daily basis makes sure that inventory is properly booked.
- Makes sure that the farm’s assets are listed correctly.
- Banks should be in sync with each other.
- Make sure that bills are paid in the right way.
- Stock count at the end of the month
- Help the management put together documents for budgeting, financial reporting, and costing controls.
- Start making daily and regular cost statements.
- Use the statistical and accounting data to evaluate operating results in terms of costs, budgets, operating policies, trends, and the chance of making more money.
- Helps make budgets, financial tracking sheets, summaries, and other financial documents for projects.
- Helps put together the financial information needed for the Quarterly and Annual reports.
- Keeps a well-organized filing system for financial reports and accounting documents that is ready for an audit.
- Maintains the right internal controls over all money that comes in, goes out, and is managed.
- Identifies problems and risks in a timely way and talks with supervisors about proposed changes.
- Makes sure that all accounting documents are safe, including checkbooks, requisitions, official receipts, stamps, and local purchase orders.
- Keeps all sensitive and financial information secret.
Skills or Experience
- Those who want to apply should have a good B.Sc. or HND in Accounting.
- Also, The applicant must have worked for at least a year, preferably as a farm accountant.
- Then, Applicants who live in or near Adieso or are ready to move to Adieso will be given priority.
- People who have worked as accountants on a POULTRY FARM will have an edge.
- Lastly, Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (GAAS) and Ghana’s tax laws are well known.
