POSITION: Banking Applications Officer

BRAC Ghana Savings and Loans Ltd is seeking a Banking Applications Officer to join our team in Accra. If you hold a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering, bring two to five years of T24 experience, and possess strong expertise in T24 architecture, parameterization, and integrations, this role offers the opportunity to support a socially responsible organization empowering women across Ghana.

As Banking Applications Officer, you will ensure the technology powering this mission remains reliable, secure, and efficient.

Your Mission

You will take responsibility for the effective operation, support, and continuous improvement of business critical applications, particularly the Temenos T24 core banking system. Your role spans daily operational support, local development and customization, database administration, system monitoring, incident resolution, user management, and compliance. You will serve as the vital bridge between business users and IT, ensuring that systems align with organizational needs, enhance operational efficiency, and support service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Your role spans system support, development, database administration, security, testing, integration, and safeguarding. Here is what you will tackle:

Core Banking Support & Operations

You will provide daily operational support for the Temenos T24 core banking system, running the daily close of business and generating all departmental reports.
Monitoring system performance, availability, and reliability keeps our operations running without interruption.
Troubleshooting and resolving system issues within agreed SLAs demonstrates your responsiveness.
Providing T24 support to operators to resolve any COB problems, escalating critical errors when needed.

Local Development & Customization

You will handle T24 local development and customization, writing routines, designing T24 versions and enquiries, and creating reports as requested by users.
Configuring and maintaining T24 parameters, products, and modules ensures the system reflects our business needs.
Supporting setup of accounts, loans, deposits, and customer data structures builds the foundation for all transactions.

Database Administration & Data Migration

You will manage MySQL database administration, backup and restoration, and T24 data migration, protecting critical financial data.
Ensuring system updates, patches, and upgrades are properly implemented keeps us current and secure.
Maintaining system documentation and configuration records supports audit readiness and knowledge transfer.

Security, Compliance & Incident Management

You will manage user creation, modification, and deactivation in T24, enforcing role based access controls and segregation of duties.
Monitoring and ensuring compliance with security policies and audit requirements protects our license to operate.
Logging, tracking, and resolving incidents within SLA timelines, performing root cause analysis for recurring issues.
Participating in change advisory processes and supporting change requests, system enhancements, and releases.

Testing, Integration & Vendor Coordination

You will support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), validating system changes before deployment.
Ensuring smooth rollout of new features and fixes, providing post implementation support.
Supporting integration between T24 and other systems including mobile banking and APIs, monitoring interfaces and resolving integration issues.
Collaborating with developers and third party vendors, coordinating with Temenos on upgrades and enhancements.

Regulatory Compliance & Safeguarding

You will ensure adherence to regulatory requirements including Bank of Ghana guidelines.
Supporting internal and external audits with required system data and reports, maintaining proper logs and audit trails.
Establishing a safeguarding culture across all levels by implementing the safeguarding policy.
Acting as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

What You Bring to the Role

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a relevant field.

Experience

Strong expertise in T24 architecture, parameterization, upgrades, and integrations.
Leading projects, vendor coordination with Temenos, and system enhancements.
Minimum of two to five years of relevant work experience across all technical and functional areas of T24.
Proven work experience as a T24 Core Banking Technical Analyst.
Understanding of core banking modules including Accounts, Deposits, Loans, Customer Management, and Treasury.
Knowledge of banking operations and financial products.
Understanding of system integrations including API, middleware, payment switches, and mobile and internet banking.
Ability to translate business needs into system requirements.
