By explaining why he sent a taming message to Shatta Wale on social media, Praye tietia or otherwise known as Cartel Big J said Shatta is comparing himself in his prime to artistes who have finished doing their part in the industry.
In an interview with Zion Felix, Praye Tietia agreed with Shatta Wale for campaigning the industry to wake up but disagreed with Shatta getting on the nerves of those whose era seems to have ended.
According to Cartel Big J, the dancehall artiste is just rubbing his mouth because he is trending and thinks he has money but should he not get shows and sponsorships for about six months, he will not think of talking anyhow like he has done.
Cartel mentioned that the highlife artistes and the “old gees” are financially okay on the average and for him, he is doing very well.
In addition, he said that music is a multimillion dollar venture and so with the little they were able to get on their side of making music during their era, they used it for investments and other promising things that supports them to date so they are not poor.
He mentioned a few colleague musicians who are doing good without music. The likes of D-Black who is doing well with his night club and Nhyiraba Kojo too among others.
Cartel Big J advised that Shatta Wale should find the right way to help in rising the music industry for he is very influential but by rebuking people of the past, it won’t help in any way. It will rather create some tension around the music industry in a way that upcoming musicians will find it hard expressing their talent there for the betterment of our country.
