Applications are currently being accepted for the fully funded Harvard University Mountaintop Fellowship with Leadership Training in the USA from international students. Students who wish to participate in programs at the Fellowship level at Harvard University are eligible to apply for the program.

Description of the scholarship:

The Mountaintop Fellowship is a fully financed, one-year fellowship that equips exceptional rising leaders to help lower-income communities around the world. The fellowship is intended to set Fellows on a path of lasting impact by assisting them in developing the abilities and expertise necessary to be successful leaders.

The following people are eligible for the fellowship:

Committed to helping in communities with lower incomes
Driven by a strong desire to change the world
Willing to dedicate a full year of service

The following elements make up the fellowship:

Fellows will learn about leadership, ethics, and social change during a two-week Leadership Institute at Harvard University.
A 12-month stint working on a project that solves a serious social issue with a host organization in a less affluent neighborhood.
Consistent assistance from Mountaintop employees and alumni

1 . Full-Payment Leadership Institute, Benefits, and Stipend

The program will alter the life trajectories of some of the most promising future leaders in the world, strengthening communities in some of the most vulnerable regions of the globe. All nationalities of overseas students are eligible for this fellowship.

Eligibility Requirements

Devoted to working their entire career for their country of origin. For larger nations, we look for loyalty to the state or province of origin or to the local community.
Committed to spending the full week of July 13–26, 2024, in-person training at Harvard University in Cambridge, USA.
Also, committed to working on their fellowship project for 40 hours per week for the term of the fellowship. This full-time dedication must not be hampered by jobs, classes, parenthood, or other obligations.
Although there are no basic restrictions on age or education, some host-led fellowships may have additional prerequisites.

Application Process:

Mountaintop will distribute its first cohort’s 15–25 Fellows among at least 8 different nations.

PLACEMENTS

Mountaintop offers both host-led and applicant-led fellowships.

To solve a pressing social need in underserved communities in low-income nations, Mountaintop partners with high-impact governmental organizations, non-governmental organizations, and social ventures. The annual wage of comparable team members is used by hosts to calculate a stipend for a full-time, one-year role.
Fellowships that are applicant-led allow fellows to lead high-impact independent projects anywhere in the globe besides the United States.

Recruitment and Selection

Mountaintop works in collaboration with hosts, colleges, and leadership networks to find exceptional young professionals to serve in fellowships in their native towns and nations. Mountaintop chooses Fellows who have a track record of public service and/or business and who are dedicated to staying permanently in their hometowns throughout their careers. No age restrictions apply. For fellowships that are host-led, hosts take part in finalist interviews and give final approval to all choices.

Candidates with language barriers can submit their applications in their mother tongue, and Fellows who are chosen are given a free online English course to take before starting the Leadership Institute. TRAINING

Before being placed, Fellows participated in a two-week Leadership Institute in July at the Harvard Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Ethics in Cambridge, USA.

The Leadership Institute educates Fellows on Mountaintop’s transformational leadership curriculum, which includes moral leadership, which entails upholding higher moral standards while encouraging others to do the same, systems leadership, which entails influencing culture, ecosystems, policies, and other fundamental levers to contribute to sustainable change, and public leadership, which entails collaborating with governments as an elected official, civil servant, or advocate to strengthen democratic institutions and advance liberal principles.

In order to map the opportunities and problems faced by a variety of local stakeholders, fellows are also trained to do an optional “listening tour” of their towns. This training helps fellows’ local leadership.

World-class partners representing the diversity of the world in location, culture, ethnicity, and philosophy will facilitate the Institute. These partners come from academia, public service, charity, entrepreneurship, and ministry.

The Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University, faculty at the Harvard Kennedy School, and the Harvard Business School are some of the current partners. In order to better fit their needs and design the training, chosen Fellows will also have the chance to offer advice on what they would like to stress throughout the Institute.
