Job Description
Location: Accra (with possibility of travel 30% of the time)
Reports TO: Finance and Administration Director and Deputy Chief of Party
Duration: One Year Contract- Anticipated to be renewable on annual basis
Global Communities, a Non-Governmental Organization is seeking an experienced professional to fill the position of Grants and Contracts Specialist for the 5-year USAID funded E-WASH project.
This project aims at making improved water supply and sanitation accessible to all Ghanaians while promoting the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors needed to make this intervention sustainable.
WASH for Health will focus on targeted communities in the Northern, Western, Central, Volta and Greater Accra regions of Ghana.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Grants and Contracts Specialist will be responsible for the overall management of the entire grants program. He/she will plan, implement, administer, coordinate, report, monitor and evaluate specific activities. Essentially, this will entail providing technical expertise as follows:
- Liaise with the Director of Finance and Administration in undertaking project specific activities leading to Sub-Awards, Contracts, and consultancies.
- Enforce compliance with procedures by indicating the process for selection, basis for analysis, and determination for sub-grants.
- Ensure that all standard clauses are included, certifications and representations are signed, and proper documentation is included in each contract file.
- Travel to the project sites as part of measures to ensure compliance with terms of signed contracts and grants.
- Build the local capacity of Sub-awardees in grants management.
- Actively participate on the development and implementation of partnership with private sector partners.
- Contribute actively to project budgets and reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annually.
- Liaise with the COP and DCOP on any other duties assigned..

Required Skills or Experience
- Master’s degree in business/public administration, public health, management, economics or related field.
- At least 8 years working experience, with a minimum of 5 years’ in grants management and financial/operational systems (i.e. with the ability to develop grant agreements, and to monitor/manage grants program) preferably with USAID-funded projects.
- Knowledge of USAID financial regulations and procedures
- Proficiency in English (both oral and written) is required.
- Computer literacy in MS Office Suite (especially Excel, Access and similar database software)

- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work with complex financial information
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
