For international students, VLIR-UOS offers fully financed scholarships that cover:

2 . Joint Masters Degree Program of Erasmus Mundus

This fellowship is among the most prestigious and is entirely supported by the European Union for a variety of master’s and doctorate study programs across Europe. The scholarship pays for the students’ living expenses (€1100-€1200 per month), tuition, visa fees, travel expenses, and insurance.

Any nationality of international students is eligible to apply for this award. A bachelor’s degree is required for applicants to be eligible for this grant. Before applying for this award, employment experience is not required.

Applications from students with low CGPAs are encouraged. The scholarship recipients will spend one to two academic years studying for a dual master’s degree in Belgium and the host nation.

Belgium ARES Scholarship

International students have the chance to pursue bachelor’s, master’s, and continuing education degrees at renowned Belgian universities thanks to the ARES Belgium grant. For both bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, more than 130 scholarships are given out. For internships or continuing study, 70 scholarships are given. The following is covered by the Ares Belgium scholarship program:

• Stipends (1150 euros per month)

MASTER MIND SCHOLARSHIPS FROM THE GOVERNMENT OF FLANDERS

Every year, the Flanders government gives 30 scholarships to foreign students from all nations who wish to enroll in master’s programs in Flanders and Brussels. The following are covered by this scholarship:

• A grant of €8200
• waiver of the tuition

KU LEUVEN’S GLOBAL MINDS DOCTORAL SCHOLARSHIPS PROGRAM

The KU Leuven Global Minds Doctoral Scholarship Program chooses outstanding candidates from underdeveloped nations for scholarship candidacy in their Ph.D. program. The scholarship recipients do research for 24 months at KU Leuven and 24 months at their home university. This is referred to as the “sandwich system.” As a result, KU Leuven and the home institution each contribute financial support to the Ph.D. candidates. What is covered under the Global Minds doctoral fellowship program?

• 199 euros per month in monthly stipends
