Full Funding Available for the Thailand DAAD TGGS Scholarship
Interested international students can now submit their applications to be considered for a DAAD TGGS Scholarship in Thailand, which comes with a full funding package. Students who wish to enroll in master’s-level programs at the Sirindhorn International Thai-German Graduate School of Engineering are eligible for the scholarship.
A description of the scholarship
The RWTH Aachen University is pleased to offer a scholarship to TGGS students in need of financial assistance with their master’s degree studies. During the second year of the program, participants will spend time conducting research at RWTH Aachen University. Students now have the opportunity to receive financial assistance in the form of a scholarship thanks to a partnership between the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Federal Foreign Office.
DAAD, RWTH Aachen, and King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) are the three institutions that initially worked together to establish the joint venture that is now known as TGGS.
DAAD-TGGS in a Nutshell
German Academic Exchange Service, Thai-German Graduate School of Engineering The DAAD-TGGS (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst – Thai-German Graduate School of Engineering) is a collaborative project that offers possibilities for advanced engineering education and research. This program offers students a one-of-a-kind educational opportunity and was developed as a collaborative effort between the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), RWTH Aachen University in Germany, and King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) in Thailand.
The second year of the program is dedicated to a research stay at RWTH Aachen University, and the program’s primary objective is to provide financial assistance to Master’s degree candidates so that they may pursue their academic goals. This cooperation promotes academic and cultural contact between Germany and Thailand, in addition to supporting research and innovation in the field of engineering.
The DAAD-TGGS program is well known for its commitment to academic excellence and emphasis on research-driven education. Students receive a comprehensive education in all aspects of engineering thanks to the collaboration of RWTH Aachen and KMUTNB, which pooled their knowledge and resources to create the program.
Students from Thailand and beyond are able to access world-class education and research opportunities in engineering thanks to scholarship support from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Federal Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt). This makes the program a valuable platform for aspiring engineers and researchers who want to advance their careers and contribute to the global engineering community.
Available topics
Students have the opportunity to collaborate with a wide variety of renowned and accomplished professors and researchers at TGGS. Explore our web pages here to learn more about our programs and research, or come see us in person at TGGS.
The following master’s degrees are eligible for the scholarship:
Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE)
The primary goal of this curriculum is to train professional engineers with an emphasis on the needs and environments of industry so that graduates will be well-versed in and capable of handling advanced engineering tasks, such as research and development, project management, and technical policy planning.
RWTH-Aachen University, a co-founder of TGGS, and its industry-focused education paradigm are both used in the curriculum. The curriculum creates strong connections and relevance to industry through a variety of mechanisms, such as project-based industry internships and master’s theses with industry-relevant research projects, which give students the chance to get experience in working situations in industry.
The curriculum emphasizes the development of social skills for multicultural environments and professional abilities, such as communication, presentation, and teamwork, which are important requirements for the graduates’ career in industry. This is in addition to the advanced engineering knowledge provided by various courses.
Chemical and Process Engineering (CPE)
The RWTH Aachen University German curriculum served as a model for the CPE program’s curriculum, which has been modified to accommodate Thailand’s industrial growth. It aims to produce postgraduate engineers with practical experience as well as research abilities and chemical industry competencies.
Materials and Production Engineering (MPE)
A key educational tenet is practical training in businesses or manufacturing firms, and the Materials and Production Engineering (MPE) curriculum was created to satisfy these needs.
This program will be divided into three majors: production engineering and logistics, metallurgical and material processing technology, and process and manufacturing technology.
This program is created to provide and enhance the learning experience with in-depth knowledge in all three disciplines, as well as the ability to solve management-related problems, the ability to lead and function in a project team, and the ability to communicate in an elective manner, which will be strengthened throughout the entire study period.
Benefits of the scholarship
Each year in August, the scholarships are awarded for the first academic year. Depending on the student’s first-year performance, a second-year extension may be given.
The scholarship includes a monthly amount to help with living expenses in addition to covering the entire cost of tuition (partially supported by KMUTNB).
