Qualifications Required to Apply:
- Open to students from any country in the world who are studying abroad.
- Applicants are expected to demonstrate their interest in enrolling in either the Master’s or Ph.D. program in order to be considered for admission.
- You are required to have at least a bachelor’s degree.
- All applicants are required to present the required documentation in the format that has been stated.
Application Process:
The application procedure for the Open Doors Russian Government Scholarship 2024 comprises two rounds for candidates seeking a Master’s degree, and it consists of three steps for candidates seeking a Ph.D.
For those at the Master’s Level:
- This round will begin with a competition based on your portfolio.
- The candidates will be asked to take part in a problem-solving competition during the second stage of the selection process.
At the Level of the Ph.D.:
The third step of the process is to identify a potential research supervisor for the doctorate program (which is analogous to a Ph.D.) that will be pursued and to conduct an interview with that individual.
Applicants are given the option of choosing between up to six different universities. In the event that the university of your first choice does not provide the desired course of study, the application you submitted will be forwarded to the next institution on your list of priorities for consideration. During the process of registering, you will have the opportunity to select anywhere from one to six universities that best suit your interests.

About Open Doors Scholarship Program
The Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudichestvo), Compatriots Living Abroad, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and The Association of Global Universities collaborate to organize the Olympiad.
The competition is intended for gifted international students who want to apply for free master’s and postgraduate degrees in Russia.
The Open Doors winners receive free early admission to any Russian institution, with the Russian Federation paying for their tuition and there being no entrance exams.
The winners of the competition will have the option to enroll in any Russian university’s program through a single-window enrollment mechanism. English or Russian is the language of instruction, depending on the university and the program selected.
The Olympiad offers two tracks: one for aspiring Ph.D. candidates and the other for Master’s and doctorate candidates. The Master’s track of the Olympiad consists of two rounds, whereas the doctoral track (which is equivalent to the Ph.D. track) consists of three rounds. In the first round, participants compete with their portfolios, and in the second, they must solve problems. The third round of the Olympiad entails interviewing and choosing a potential research supervisor for the selected doctorate program (which is comparable to a Ph.D.).
Foreign nationals and stateless individuals, including those who are living abroad, are eligible to compete if they hold a bachelor’s degree or have completed a bachelor’s program in the master’s track, or if they hold a master’s or specialist’s degree in the doctoral track (which is equivalent to a Ph.D.) in the same year.
