Description of the scholarship:

Karsh International Scholarship was founded in 2010 with the generous support of Martha L. and Bruce A. Karsh. The purpose of this award is to acknowledge the significant contributions that international academics have made to the academic community at Duke University. It is intended for students studying overseas who can demonstrate that they are in need of financial assistance and who contribute significantly to the advancement of scholarly labor, academic research, and interdisciplinary study for the betterment of society.

Details of the Karsh International Scholarship

  • Study Level: Any subject at the bachelor’s degree level

Value of the Scholarship

Over the course of three summers, the scholarship will give funding for you to participate in activities like research, unpaid internships, and other opportunities that will advance your academic career. This assistance is in addition to tuition, lodging and board, compulsory fees, and other expenses, as well as needs that have been demonstrated to be more extensive than those prices.

They need to be academically well-prepared and to demonstrate a genuine need for monetary assistance.

To be eligible for the scholarship, all that is required of you is to submit an application to Duke University for admission and to complete the online financial aid application forms. The first of November serves as the cutoff date for early applications, while January 2 serves as the cutoff date for regular decisions.

The city of Durham, North Carolina, in the United States, is home to the prestigious private research institution known as Duke University. You can combine academic fields or focus on a particular field of study. You can conduct research, write, perform, compete, create, compute, or be a champion because at Duke, we think that inquiry leads to growth.

Problem-solving creativity can be learned as well as comes naturally to some people. The academic philosophy at Duke encourages you to create your own learning experiences, to think creatively and critically, and to put what you’ve learned into practice anywhere in the globe. This fosters creativity.

Trinity College, which serves as Duke’s liberal arts foundation, requires all undergraduate students to enroll in classes there. To inspire you to think profoundly within fields and broadly beyond them, with a healthy balance of tradition and innovation, classes at Trinity College range throughout the arts, humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences.

House Courses

House Courses are half-credit, satisfactory/unsatisfactory courses open to all undergraduates that provide an intellectual experience distinct from regular departmental offerings and often respond directly to students’ expressed interests and concerns. They enhance intellectual life in the residence halls where they are taught.
