Ghanaian musician, Sylvanus Dodji Jeoffrey known in Showbiz as Captain Planet has voiced out on why Ghanaian musicians are usually not nominated by big award platforms like the BET and GRAMMY.
According to Captain Planet, Ghanaian artistes don’t get recognized in terms of award on the international stage due to the fighting and backbiting among ourselves in the music industry. He continued that we usually tend to destroy and pull ourselves down that’s why we don’t get nominated on the big platforms.
He recalled the good news that happened to Shatta Wale as he worked hard to get himself in an International collaboration with Beyonce. He referred that not much noise was heard from the artistes in Ghana as they tried to downplay the achievement.
On his twitter handle, he shared his opinion on the matter.
He tweeted the following:
“BET come GH no dey inside. GRAMMY come GH no dey inside. How do u expect them to access your hard work when others are busy destroying it & all they see is negative vibes . personally i was expecting to see 5 artistes from Flag of Ghana at least 1 of them bagging BET/GRAMMY nomination”
