Canadian Passport Ranks one of the Best in the World
The Global Passport Index study from Global Citizens Solutions says that the Canadian passport is one of the top three in the world.
Enhanced Mobility
On the Enhanced Mobility measure, Canada got a score of 97.21. The index is based on how easy it is for a passport user to travel to a country or how many countries they can go to without a visa.
Investment
The Investment Index looks at how appealing the country of a passport holder is as a place to put money abroad. In short, the index gives a general evaluation of the economy that can be used to make business and financial decisions. It gives more weight to countries that are doing well and have strong economies. The Canadian passport got a high score because, among other things, it has a strong banking system and labor market.
Statistics Canada’s latest Labour Force Survey shows that 55,000 jobs were added to the Canadian economy in December 2021. This comes after the report from last month, which showed that the Canadian economy had hired more people than before the pandemic. Canada is looking to immigration to fill job openings, which have reached a record high.
Quality of Life
The Quality of Life index looks at things like political freedom, the health of the environment, well-being, and how people in general feel about immigrants.
Canada did very well when it came to sustainable growth, freedom, environmental performance, happiness, and accepting newcomers.
