Canada Visa Application Centers to Open in 10 Indian Cities – VFS Global

According to VFS Global, its application facilities for Canada visas would stay open in ten Indian locations. The top visa services provider, VFS Global, has released a statement regarding the state of its Canada visa application centers in India in light of the recent developments in the diplomatic relations between Canada and India.

For people requesting immigration services in different Indian cities and those applying for visas, VFS Global offers encouraging news about the recent shifts in the diplomatic scene. We will examine the specifics of the VFS Global Statement in this post, along with its implications for both the community at large and those applying for visas.

Canada Visa Application Centers – India

Visa services firm VFS Global made it clear that their Canada Centric visa application facilities will stay operational in ten Indian cities, following Canada’s announcement that it will be removing 41 of its ambassadors from India within hours. In a statement released on October 20, VFS Global noted, “Please note that our Canada visa application centers across 10 Indian cities continue operating normally as instructed by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).”

VFS Global runs the Canada visa application centers in the following cities: Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, New Delhi, July, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Chandigarh. IRCC is Canada’s official immigration body and is in charge of reviewing the large number of applications submitted by Indians applying for visas for study abroad or permanent residency.

Following the IRCC, VFS Global provided clarification, stating that the delay in obtaining a visa will be impacted by Canada’s reduced diplomatic presence in India. The IRCC is cutting five staff members from their previous total of 27 in India. The IRCC stated that while it will still accept and handle applications from India, shorter processing periods are anticipated as a result of lower staffing levels.

However, the Canadian immigration board noted that 89% of Indian applications are processed through the global network, meaning that the vast majority of applications from India are already handled outside of the nation. The five IRCC employees from Canada who are still in India will concentrate on tasks that need for an in-country presence, like risk assessment, expedited processing, printing visas, and managing important Partners.

Canadian Foreign Minister’s Take

Melanie Joli, Canada’s foreign minister, announced the decision to remove 41 Canadian diplomats from India during a press meeting on October 19 in Ottawa. She explained that the decision by New Delhi to grant diplomatic immunity to only 21 of the 62 Canadian diplomats now stationed there was the reason behind the move.

As of right now, I can attest that India has officially communicated its intention to remove diplomatic communities—all except 21 Canadian diplomats—by unethically removing them from Delhi by October 20. According to the news agency, this meant that 41 Canadian ambassadors and their 42 dependents might have their immunity revoked at any time, endangering their safety. Ani stated what she said.

Jolie went on to say that several Indian cities’ diplomatic operations will be impacted by the change. Viewers from Canada might be curious about the implications for our operations in India. Without a doubt, India’s decision will affect the quality of services provided by consulates in both nations. Regretfully, she stated, we must temporarily suspend all in-person services at our consulates in Bangalore and Chandigarh, Mumbai.

Further Details

Last month, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made allegations regarding a possible connection between the death of pro-Calistan politician Hardip Sing Nigar and Indian officials in Canada. This led to a diplomatic dispute. The accusation has been refuted by the Indian government.

For those looking to enter Canada, one of the most important factors is the state of the visa application centers. Many people are relieved and provided with clarity by VFS Global’s announcement that its services will remain available in ten Indian locations. We will continue to keep you informed about this issue and other immigration-related topics as diplomatic events take place.
