Agriculture Occupation in the National Occupational Classification

Agriculture is a high-priority sector in Canada since it is critical to the country’s economy. The agricultural sector in Canada employs approximately 2 million people and contributes more than $100 billion to the country’s GDP. The sector is also a significant source of food for both Canadians and exports.

The Alberta Advantage Immigrant Program (AAIP) is a government immigration program designed to bring in qualified workers. The AAIP has a priority sector for agriculture jobs, which indicates that applicants with agricultural experience have an advantage in the application procedure.

Agriculture is a priority sector in Canada for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, the sector is a significant employment and contributor to the economy. Second, there is a skilled labor shortage in the sector. Third, the industry is critical to food security.

The AAIP is a fantastic opportunity for skilled agricultural workers to move to Canada. The program provides several advantages, including a faster path to permanent residency and access to provincial nominee programs.

Prediction for the Next Draw of the Alberta Provincial Nominee Program

The Alberta Advantage Immigrant Program (AAIP) is responsible for issuing nomination certificates, and each year the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) places restrictions on what may and cannot be included on those certificates. According to the projections made by the AAIP, the organization would hand out a total of 9,750 nomination certificates in 2023.

These certificates shall be parceled out in a manner that is fair and equitable across Express Entry and the other routes. It is imperative that you keep in mind that these allocation constraints may be subject to modification at any time during the course of the year. In addition, projections indicate that between the years 2024 and 2025, the number of nominations that will be distributed on a yearly basis will climb to more than 10,000.

The fact that the AAIP has already handed out 7,968 Nomination Certificates as of the 3rd of October in the year 2023 is evidence that a considerable participation rate has been achieved in the program.

The most recent draw for the Alberta Provincial Nominee Program (APNP) for farm vocations illustrates the province’s approach to alleviating labor shortages in the agriculture industry while also creating chances for qualified professionals to gain permanent residency in Canada. The draw took place on December 11, 2018.
