Canada Extends Deadline to Submit a PR Application for Express Entry

For skilled immigrants desiring permanent residency in Canada, there is an application process called Canada Express Entry. For those waiting for the next Canada Express Entry draw, there might be a delay. The application deadline for permanent residence has been extended by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) by a further sixty days.

Technical issues with the online application have prevented some applicants from submitting their Express Entry applications. Applicants who live in Canada and have dependant children above the age of 18 are affected by this.

Express Entry authorities have spoken with each of the impacted candidates personally, and are making quick work of the problem. They have added an extra 60 days to the deadline for anyone impacted to apply for permanent residency. By the way, October 10, 2023, was the date of the most recent all-program draw, and October 26, 2023, was the date of the most recent Express Entry draw.

Express Entry Application Process

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) employs the express entry system to manage the processing of applications for economic immigration under the Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC) and Federal Skill Trades Class (FSTC) for skilled immigrants who wish to live permanently in Canada.

Prospective candidates for Express Entry are required to submit a completed electronic Application for Permanent Residence (e-APR) within 60 calendar days of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA). Beginning on October 1, 2023, candidates for Express Entry will no longer need to have pre-entry medical exams.

3,600 invites were sent out by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on October 26 to apply for permanent residency via the Express Entry program. The minimum rank needed to be invited to apply is 3,600, and the lowest-ranked applicant to be invited will have a CRS score of 431.

3,200 invites were sent out by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on September 19 to apply for permanent residency via the Express Entry program. The minimum rank needed to be invited to apply is 3,200, and the lowest-ranked applicant to be invited will have a CRS score of 531.

For those who want to immigrate permanently through the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and a portion of the Provincial Nominee Program, Express Entry is Canada’s best application management system. The Express Entry method makes the immigration procedure easier and more effective for people who know certain important disciplines.

Canada’s Largest Backlog of PR Applications

Applications for permanent residency cards are heavily backlogged in Canada. A major obstacle has surfaced in the field of Canadian immigration, clouding the paths of several individuals striving to become permanent citizens.

There is a significant backlog of applications for permanent residence cards in Canada right now, which has many worried about how long the delays may affect immigrants already living there. Come along as we explore the reasons, effects, and strategies for navigating this complicated immigration landscape as we unpack the complexities of this backlog.

Canada PR Applications

There is a significant backlog of applications for permanent residence cards in Canada, despite requests that the passport offices assume responsibility for issuing them to newly arrived immigrants. Even though Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) stipulate that a first permanent resident card must be issued within 68 days of an immigrant being granted permanent residency, many immigrants are currently stranded in Canada due to a backlog of applications for the cards.

It might be challenging for a permanent resident to re-enter Canada without a permanent resident card. The new immigrant can enter Canada by land at a Port of Entry along the border as one method of entering the nation again without a permanent residence card.

Photographs supplied but did not match the specifications of the existing non-governmental processing center remain held responsible for the delay. Frequently, the provided images are not the correct size or brightness. Since the permanent residence card processing facility is not a government agency, Canadian immigration officers may not have access to detailed information regarding the daily processing of any given application.

Urgent Permanent Resident Card Processing

If an immigrant expects to travel within the next three months, they may be eligible for expedited processing of their permanent residency card.

  • First and foremost, a position
  • Also, their grave illness
  • In addition, a family member’s passing
  • Moreover, tasks associated with their present position
  • Furthermore, the grave sickness of a family member

Immigration officials do not promise that immigrants will receive their permanent residency cards on time, even with that expedited procedure. A permanent resident can apply for a $50 permanent resident travel document if they find themselves outside of Canada without a valid permanent resident card. However, this document is only good for one return trip to Canada.
