Job Title: Sign Language Translator / Video Editor
Job Purpose
To translate the Bible into the Sign Language to be able to engage and transform the lives of the Deaf Community with the Gospel.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in daily discussion of the Bible and agree on key words and signs to be used on assigned projects
- Participate in video shooting of the Bible storyline as discussed
- Complete the signing of assigned projects for video production
- Review and discuss the video shots with Supervisor appropriately
- Submit monthly / quarterly reports on progress, make recommendations and share challenges pertaining to the project
- Work closely with the Interpreter when editing videos
- Complete tasks assigned by the Translation Consultant/Manager
- Develop videos for training/workshops
- Work collaboratively with the team on
Qualification Required & Experience
- A first degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
- Must possess good initiative skills and assertive
- Must be innovative and have good problem-solving skills
- Ability to exercise good judgment by including the appropriate persons in the decision-making process
- Must be a hearing-impaired person with good Sign Language Communication skills
- Must possess excellent written communication and good analytical skills
- Must be an excellent Team Player
