JOB VACANCY FOR SENIOR OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

The Ministry of Health exists to promote and provide integrated, holistic and sustainable preventative, curative, and rehabilitative quality health services to the nation

VACANCY: SENIOR OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the above position in the Ministry of Health, Department of Health Service Management, tenable at various facilities

• VACANCY NO:  34 of 2022
• SALARY: 14233,140.00-1255,836.00 per annum

BENEFITS:

• Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50s, Employee pays)
• A contract of 34-36 months with gratuity of 30% payable at the end of contract.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy (se OTY Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (B0cc OT)
• At least (2) year’s work experience as Occupational Therapy I or four (4) year’s work experience in a relevant field.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To coordinate occupational therapy services in health facilities and monitor compliance to professional standards in the delivery of adequate and affective occupational therapy

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

1. Firstly, Coordinates and implementation of Occupational Therapy services.
2. Secondly, Supervises and guides junior staff in various units/ sections of the Occupational Therapy services.
3. Thirdly, Comforts Occupational Therapy research.
4. Moreover, Determines costing and pricing of consumables issued to patients
5. Additionally, Benchmarks on best practices
6. Finally, 1dentifies training needs for junior staff.
