Update|| Pastor arrested for aiding kidnap of nurse trainee who was buried secretly in Mankessim

On Tuesday, September 20, an investigation led by a pastor revealed the body of final-year nurse trainee Georgina Asor Botchwey been buried in the room of the Tufohene of Ekumfi Akwakrom in Mankessim in the Central Region.

Presently, the pastor is in the grips of the police in Mankessim in the Central Region. This comes after he confessed to helping a chief to kidnap the 25-year-old nurse trainee and secretly burying her in the chief’s room.

According to reports, the two kidnapped her and may have killed her after having several sexual intercourse with the victim.

Afterward, the victim was, then, buried in one of the rooms of the chief. The chief is currently on the run.

Reports suggest that the body has been buried for the past three weeks.

The incident has caused fear in the residents, especially as it involves a chief.

Cephas Arthur, the Assembly Member of the area, called on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to increase security in Mankessim and its environs.

According to him, this is not the first time such an incident has happened in the area. Aside from this one, there have been five (5)  incidents within this year.

The Assemblyman, has suggested that, the law must deal with the pastor and the chief, if caught.

The body of the victim has been sent to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital morgue for autopsy.
