Job Title: Field Services Engineer

Tizeti Network Ghana Limited, operating as Ghana WiFi, is on a mission to provide unlimited, high speed internet access across the country. We are building the network that keeps businesses connected and families online. Consequently, we need talented, energetic, and customer focused Field Services Engineers to join our technical team.

This is not a desk job. You will not be staring at a screen all day. Instead, you will be out in the field, serving as the face of our company. You will bring new customers online, rescue them from connectivity issues, and ensure our network performs at its absolute best. If you have the technical skills to fix a problem and the people skills to leave a customer smiling, we want you on our team.

Your Core Responsibilities

Installation & Customer Onboarding

  • Own the Installation Process: You will travel to client locations to handle the installation and configuration of Customer Premise Equipment or CPE. You will also ensure every installation meets our technical standards and delivers optimal performance.
  • Educate Our Customers: You will not just install and leave. You will provide clear, simple post installation training to clients. You will show them how to perform basic troubleshooting, empowering them and reducing future support calls.
  • Represent the Brand: You will be the physical embodiment of Tizeti. Your professionalism, punctuality, and positive attitude will leave a lasting impression on every customer you meet.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose and Resolve Issues: You will tackle technical hardware and software problems involving internet connectivity. You will quickly diagnose the root cause, whether it is a configuration error, a signal issue, or related to customer equipment like inverters or batteries.
  • Manage Trouble Tickets: You will take ownership of trouble tickets from assignment to resolution. You will work efficiently to close tickets and restore service, keeping customers informed throughout the process.
  • Apply Configuration Changes: You will use our change control systems and processes to apply configuration changes safely and effectively. You understand the importance of following protocols to maintain network stability.
  • Perform Essential Maintenance: You will carry out both preventive and corrective maintenance. You will proactively check equipment to ensure uptime remains high, and you will respond quickly when corrective action is needed.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain Accurate Service Logs: You will keep detailed and accurate records of every service visit. You will enter this data into our database, creating a valuable history that helps us improve our service.
  • Perform Equipment Upgrades: As we expand and upgrade our network, you will handle equipment upgrades and reconfigurations in the field.
  • Draft and Submit Reports: You will document your activities and submit regular reports, keeping the operations team informed of field conditions, common issues, and completed work.

The Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for a hands-on problem solver who thrives on variety. No two days will be exactly the same. You will need to be adaptable, organized, and genuinely enjoy helping people.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A BTech, BSc, or HND in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or any related discipline with a Second Class Upper or Upper Credit.
  • Sound knowledge of networking fundamentals. Possession of a CCNA certification is a definite added advantage.
  • Strong diagnostic skills to resolve technical hardware and software issues, including internet connectivity and power related problems like inverter or battery failures.
  • Elementary knowledge of electrical connections will make you even more effective in the field.
  • Exceptional customer service skills. You understand that technical skill alone is not enough; you must also connect with people.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You can explain technical information to a customer in clear, simple terms without causing confusion.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities to diagnose complex issues quickly.
  • Solid time management skills to handle appointments, manage your schedule, and arrive on time for every visit.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage your tools, equipment, and documentation.
  • Solid computer and technical skills to navigate systems, update records, and use diagnostic tools.
