POSITION: Marketing Analytics Lead

VisionSpring, an international social enterprise, seeks a Marketing Analytics Lead to join our team. If you possess strong database analysis skills, four to five years of progressive marketing analysis experience, and a passion for mission driven work, this role offers the opportunity to shape how we use data to reach more customers with affordable eyeglasses.

Your Mission

As our marketing, demand generation, sales, and product development functions grow more sophisticated, so do our needs for robust data and analytics to support strategic decisions. You will oversee core data, research, and analytics processes related to marketing and sales. Additionally, you will form and manage strategic partnerships with research agencies, consultants, and internal teams. You will report jointly to the Associate Director of Research & Evaluation and the VP of Marketing & Communications.

Key Responsibilities

Your role spans product analytics, campaign evaluation, market research, and resource mobilization. Here is what you will tackle:

Product Analytics

  • You will map the analytical needs of VisionSpring teams in relation to our products, identifying gaps and opportunities.
  • Bringing disparate product data together into a single, well structured data model enables robust analysis.
  • Building reporting dashboards for product sales KPIs across markets tracks new product introductions and delivers insights to sales and marketing teams.
  • Providing advisory support for IT system improvements helps embed key indicators into our ERP and CRM systems.

Marketing Activity & Campaign Evaluation

  • You will design and execute data collection and reporting elements for B2B marketing campaign evaluations, estimating campaign impact and ROI with confidence.
  • Creating data collection plans for B2C demand generation campaigns assures data quality and enables rapid insight generation.
  • Understanding marketing KPIs across B2B and B2C channels including conversion, retention, and ROI helps develop clear measurement frameworks.
  • Designing and refining attribution models evaluates channel and campaign performance across touchpoints.
  • Analyzing end to end market funnels identifies drop offs and optimization opportunities.

Market Research & Customer Surveys

  • Using customer level databases, you will build VisionSpring’s understanding of diverse customer segments across global markets.
  • Establishing and updating key benchmarking regarding overall market dynamics including total addressable market, retail density, and other geographic indicators.
  • Contributing to the design of market research projects and managing day to day execution for both internally delivered and commissioned projects.
  • Deploying diverse analytical approaches including secondary analysis of internal data, surveys, interviews, focus groups, and third party reports.
  • Translating insights into actionable recommendations for Program, MERL, and MarComms teams to inform product, pricing, and go to market strategies.

Resource Mobilization

  • You will actively contribute to generating funds by leveraging product, demand generation, and market insights to create compelling cases for support in funding proposals and donor interactions.

What You Bring to the Role

Technical Skills

  • Database analysis skills including experience working with structured databases, creating data models, reports, and dashboards. Experience with SAP or Salesforce gives you a bonus.
  • Experience working with unstructured data, cleaning, transforming, and structuring data for analysis. Comfortable working with CSV and Excel files from multiple sources.
  • Aptitude with product and customer level sales analysis including volume tracking, customer value assessments, and core financial indicators like profitability.
  • Strong software skills demonstrating competency in MS Office with excellent Excel skills, data extraction, database analysis, dashboard development, and data visualization.
  • Experience with PowerBI is desirable. Skills in a statistical package like R or SPSS are also beneficial.

Desirable Skills

  • Expertise in surveys, qualitative interviews, and evaluation methods, ideally in lower income settings.
  • Experience capturing and analyzing the impact of demand generation campaigns in the social sector context.
  • Experience working across both non profit and for profit sectors, as VisionSpring draws on approaches from both.

Communication & Experience

  • Compelling communication skills to distill marketing data insights into clear written narratives, compelling data visualizations, and engaging presentations.
  • Four to five plus years of progressive experience in marketing analysis.
  • Experience working in Sub Saharan Africa and/or South Asia (India, Bangladesh) is desirable.
  • Experience with systems used by VisionSpring including Salesforce, SAP, and PowerBI gives you a bonus.
