Coginta is seeking a Logistics Assistant to support an anticipated project focused on inclusive local development, climate security, and conflict prevention in Northern Ghana. If you hold a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, bring at least five years of experience, and possess strong knowledge of procurement and inventory management, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to stability, peace, and socioeconomic development.

Since 2021, our Ghana office has implemented several initiatives in governance, security, and social cohesion nationwide. Your Mission
You will support Coginta’s logistics operations, ensuring efficient handling of supplies, equipment, fleet, and overall logistical processes. Your role sits at the center of timely and compliant support to project activities. Working under the supervision of the Finance and Administration Manager, you will coordinate supply chains, manage inventory, support vehicle fleet operations, and prepare regular reports. Your attention to detail and ability to work under pressure will directly enable project success.
Key Responsibilities
Your role spans supply chain coordination, inventory management, transportation, fleet management, compliance, and reporting. Here is what you will tackle:
Supply Chain & Procurement
- You will support and monitor supply chain operations including procurement and delivery, ensuring materials arrive when needed.
- Coordinating with suppliers, contractors, and service providers ensures timely and cost effective procurement.
Inventory & Asset Management
- You will maintain accurate, up to date inventory records, keeping track of all supplies and equipment.
- Conducting regular stock and asset audits ensures accountability and proper stock levels.
Transportation & Field Logistics
- You will assist in planning and coordinating transportation of goods and materials to project sites.
- Ensuring timely delivery of items to field locations keeps project activities on schedule.
Documentation & Reporting
- You will prepare and maintain logistics related documentation including delivery notes, invoices, and procurement files.
- Preparing regular reports on logistics activities for the Finance and Administration Manager keeps leadership informed.
Workshop & Mission Support
- You will provide logistical support for workshops, field operations, and missions, handling everything from materials to transportation.
Fleet Management
- You will support vehicle fleet management including scheduling maintenance and repairs.
- Monitoring fuel consumption and ensuring proper use of vehicles controls costs and extends asset life.
Compliance & Coordination
- You will ensure logistics operations comply with Coginta policies, donor requirements, and national regulations.
- Collaborating closely with program, finance, and administrative staff ensures smooth coordination across departments.
What You Bring to the Role
Education & Experience
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least five years of proven experience in logistics, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably with an international NGO or donor funded project.
- Demonstrated knowledge of donor funded project procedures gives you a strong asset.
- Experience with vehicle fleet and asset management.
Technical Skills (Savoir faire)
- Strong knowledge of procurement and logistics processes.
- Ability to use project management and inventory management tools.
- Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as logistics related software.
- Excellent organizational and record keeping skills.
- Strong communication and reporting abilities.
