5 Bank statement mistakes to avoid in order to get your VISA on the first attempt
In this article, NewsNowGh will be sharing with you the mistakes you make with bank statements. That is for the purpose of securing a VISA on the first try. Bank statements are an important part of the VISA application process. This applies to all types of VISA applications. Students on scholarship are even sometimes required to give proof of adequate financial resource
CATEGORISATION OF THE MISTAKES
- Mistakes with a bank statement that is in your own name
- Mistakes with a bank statement in other people‘s names (third party)
1. AVOID LUMP SUM DEPOSIT
This is deliberately depositing huge sums of money in the account. The reason people do this is to quickly shoot up their bank balances quickly before applying for a VISA. This is considered a big red flag. Note that the pattern of the bank statement will quickly expose you to suspicious transactions. You are advised to deposit in bits over time.
2. AVOID FAKE BANK STATEMENTS FROM AGENTS
Remember agents are into money-making. They actually trade in bank statements. Agents sell bank statements to a number of VISA applicants. There are systems and tools that can easily detect that. However, agree to go to the bank with your agent and ensure that is genuinely printed from the bank and stamped by a banker. You should trust the source.
3. MAKE SURE YOUR BANK BALANCES HAVE NOT BEEN TAMPERED WITH.
This happens when you are even using a legit bank statement. The tampering happens when you touch your bank balance immediately after the VISA application. VISA officers upon seeing legit bank balances go the extra mile. They may call your bank head office for confirmation.
4. BUSSINESS OR COMPANY BANK ACCOUNT
If you are using a business bank account, you need to make proof. For the sake of name connection, you possibly need to attach an affidavit. Remember business bank account only shows the name of the business. Not the name of the owner. The affidavit will prove the name connection of the business owner and the VISA applicant. This happens with the last name. Furthermore, you can add photo stories of your relative who is the business owner with annotations.
5. WITH LOANS, DO NOT MAKE OBVIOUS DISCLOSURES
It is not wrong to take loans for further studies as an international student. However, make sure it does not reflect on the bank statement meant for the VISA application. For instance, take the loan with your father’s bank account, and deposit the money in your mother’s bank account. In this case, it is proper to apply with your mother’s bank statement with no current trace of a loan facility.
