Applications are open for interested students to apply for the 2024 York University Scholarships. Applicants are encouraged to read thoroughly and follow the instructions below for a successful application.

Student Engagement

Having a healthy balance of things outside of class is an important part of experiencing college fully. The Student Engagement Team helps people get involved with a lot of different teams and groups run by students.

You might also want to stop by our service kiosk, which used to be in the middle of Vari Hall but is now online and staffed by our student peer team, who can help you find the campus tools and services you need.

York University Scholarships

You must fill out and send in the International Student Scholarship & Award Application to be considered for the following grants and awards: Students who apply for these prizes and awards must have done very well in school and shown leadership by doing volunteer work or being very good at sports or the arts.

Students can apply for York entrance awards and scholarships even if they don’t have an offer of entry.

Note: The amount of a scholarship can change.

Important dates:

When does the Fall/Winter 2024–2025 entry open? It will be in November 2023.

The last day to apply is February 15, 2024.

Requirements:

  • You must be a student from outside of Canada and have a Study Permit to study there.
  • You must have applied to a York College program that starts in the fall of 2024.
  • Must have applied to York right after high school and no more than two years after graduation. Must not have attended any college or university before (not for the Tentanda Via Award).
  • Must have done well in school and have at least an “A” average or the equivalent (if available).
  • Must have shown leadership by helping others or doing well in the arts, sports, or other areas where they alone have achieved success (if relevant).
  • You have to upload one letter of recommendation or other papers that back up your claim.
  • Must make sure that all necessary papers are marked as “received” in the York application (MyFile) by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on February 15, 2024.
  • Must fill out and send in the online application for the International Student Scholarship by February 15, 2024, 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.

Applied Mathematics (BA, BSc) Learn mathematical modeling and use computer simulations and data analysis to solve real-world problems in areas such as epidemiology, high-speed computing, climate change, energy storage, and mathematical finance. Career paths include financial analyst, epidemiologist, and scientific computing.

Bachelor of Education (French)

BEd offered by the Faculty of Education

Education (French as a Second Language) (BEd) The BEd program with a concentration in French as a Second Language (FSL) is delivered at the Glendon campus. The language of instruction is primarily French, so students are well prepared to teach in French immersion classrooms. Students who are admitted to this program must also be enrolled at Glendon College. Graduates of the BEd program will be recommended to the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) for certification. Career paths include teaching, a French teacher.
