Scholarship Benefit:

There are eight (8) scholarships available. Successful applicants will receive 4000 euros.

Who Can Apply

• Interested applicants must be registered master’s students at Leiden University.
• Applicants must complete the thesis within 12 months of receiving their LUF-SVM Fund award letter.
• Applicants must present their thesis to a delegation of the Foundation for Packaging and the Environment (SVM) and the Leiden University Fund (LUF).

Documents Needed

Interested applicants should submit the following documents when applying:

• Firstly, a letter of motivation explaining why you believe your thesis proposal is worthy of a LUF/SVM fund scholarship.
• Secondly, a thesis proposal that relates to the theme of packaging and the environment. The thesis proposal should include

1. Firstly, either an analysis of the technical foundation
2. Secondly, creative and innovative ideas
3. Also, a description of the intended contribution of the applicant’s master’s thesis to the social discussion about packaging and the environment.
4. Lastly, a letter of recommendation written by the applicant’s Leiden University thesis supervisor.
