USCIS Independence Celebration July 2023: New US Citizens Naturalization | US Immigration

USCIS continues its dedication to naturalization and observes Independence Day in 2023. In more than 180 naturalization ceremonies between June 30 and July 7, 5,500 new citizens became citizens.

This year, between June 30 and July 7, more than 5,500 new citizens will be welcomed by USCIS during more than 180 naturalization ceremonies. 974,000 new US citizens have been admitted by USCIS so far in FY 2023. As of June 7, USCIS had welcomed 588,900 new citizens and had made great progress in reducing the length of the naturalization waiting list.

This opens up the naturalization process to anybody who qualifies and is a lovely extension of the numerous principles that gave birth to our country 247 years ago, according to USCIS Director Ur M. Jaddou. This year’s holiday is a unique chance to reaffirm our dedication to the USCIS mission and to greet new citizens as they start their lives in America.

USCIS celebrates July 4 annually. It marks the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. The 13 colonies declared independence from the British Empire. They formed the United States of America. USCIS holds unique naturalization ceremonies across the nation with an Independence Day theme to mark this historic occasion.

USCIS will commemorate and acknowledge the dedication and contributions of our newest US citizens throughout these ceremonies. With several activities, USCIS is emphasizing this year the value of civics and citizenship. The civic season began on World Refugee Day with a special ceremony and will last until the fiscal year 2023.

Special naturalization ceremonies will hold across the nation on July 4th this year, including at locations close to our country’s capital, such as George Washington’s Mount Vernon, Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello in Virginia, and the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia.

USCIS reiterates its dedication to ensuring that everyone who qualifies can access the citizenship process. Executive Order 14012 implemented by USCIS in several ways since the Biden-Harris administration took office. rebuilding newcomers’ faith in our legal immigration system and stepping up integration and inclusion activities.

USCIS invites new citizens to post images and anecdotes about their naturalization on social media after each ceremony using the hashtag (#NewUScitizen).
