UAE Creates New Visa Category for Stranded Nationals

UAE Creates New Visa Category for Stranded Nationals

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has started the Crisis and Disaster Countries Visa, which gives Sudanese people temporary permission to live there for a year. This visa is meant to help Sudanese people who are having trouble by letting them find shelter, rebuild their lives, and get the help they need.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has created a new visa category as a big step to help Sudanese people who are going through hard times and don’t know what will happen next.

Sudanese citizens can get a one-year temporary residence to pass through the “Crisis and Disaster Countries Visa.” This lets them find refuge, rebuild their lives, and get help when they need it most.

What is going on in Sudan?

Sudan is almost falling apart because forces loyal to two rival generals are fighting for control of the resource-rich North African country. UN data shows that the constant fighting has killed hundreds of people, hurt thousands more, and moved hundreds of thousands. Many Sudanese people are now stuck in other countries, like the UAE because they can’t go home.

Helping Sudanese people with their visa fines

In light of this, the Al Nahda Centre, which is in charge of immigration, has made this new visa choice public on its website and given applicants detailed instructions and guidance. People from Sudan who have lived in the UAE before and have racked up visa fines don’t need to worry.

The Al Nahda Centre is there to help them through the whole process, beginning with the medical standards for a visa.

This kind of method makes sure that Sudanese people who owe fines can pay them and move on with the application process.

Criteria for eligibility

Sudanese citizens can get a one-year visa if they belong to one of the following groups:

  • People who already have a visa and are in the UAE can get a visit.
  • People who canceled their cards before April 15, 2023, need to pay the fines that were given to them.
