CITIZENS OF 40 COUNTRIES TO ENTER THE USA WITHOUT A VISA

WHAT QUALIFIES A CITIZEN FOR THE US VISA WAIVER PROGRAM?

The following requirements must be met in order for you to be eligible for the US Visa Waiver Program:

1 . Be a national of one of the 40 permitted nations.

2 . Possess ESTA approval for a visa waiver.

The US has created the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) to speed up the application process for Visa Waiver. You merely need to visit the website and provide your personal information, and you will discover whether you are eligible for the Visa Waiver or not.

3 . An electronic passport.

You cannot, however, plan your trip around these things:

  • Enroll in school full- or part-time.
  • Perform and get money from it
  • Work in journalism or the media
  • Participate in the employment of any kind
  • Join the crew of an aircraft or ship.
  • Aspire to live permanently in the United States

WHAT HAPPENS IF ONE IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE PROGRAM?

If, for whatever reason, you are not qualified for a Visa Waiver or your ESTA application is rejected, you do have one additional choice. It is possible to apply for a standard US visa, such as the B1/B2 visa.

CAN ONE GET A GREEN CARD WHILE ON THE WAIVER PROGRAM?

You are only permitted to enter the country with the Visa Waiver for travel or business and remain there for no more than 90 days. Because of this, obtaining a Green Card while using a Visa Waiver is extremely challenging, if not impossible. No, the authorities do not demand that visitors to the US purchase health insurance. However, you are strongly urged to purchase health insurance before flying to the United States due to the exorbitant expenditures of the American healthcare system.

HOW CAN A COUNTRY JOIN THE US VISA WAIVER PROGRAM?

A nation must fulfill the following prerequisites in order to join the Visa Waiver Program:

  • Issue e-passports.
  • Have improved law enforcement and security information exchange with the US.
  • Report lost or stolen passports.
  • Have a B visa rejection rate of less than 3 percent.
