Study In USA: Minnesota North College Scholarships 2024

As a “last-dollar” program, the North Star Promise (NSP) Scholarship program will start in the fall of 2024 and provide eligible Minnesota residents with a pathway to higher education free of tuition and fees at eligible institutions. It will do this by paying the remaining tuition and fees after other scholarships, grants, stipends, and tuition waivers have been applied for.

  • NSP aims to benefit people in several ways by lowering the cost and increasing access to higher education:
  • Assist in maintaining enrolment at public higher education institutions in Minnesota;
  • Act as a catalyst for Minnesota’s economy by training skilled laborers who are desperately required to close labor shortages in the state;
  • Establish a workable higher education pathway for Minnesotans who might have previously believed that education was out of the question for them.

Who is qualified?

  • Have a Minnesota address
  • Have a family’s adjusted gross income (AGI) of less than $80,000 as stated on the Minnesota Dream Act Application or the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Enroll at Tribal College or any public higher education facility in Minnesota.
  • Avoid being in arrears on any federal or state student loans
  • Enroll in a minimum of one credit course.
  • Fulfill the requirements for Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
  • Do not currently possess a bachelor’s degree
  • Enroll in a course of study or program leading to a certificate, diploma, or degree.
