The La Trobe Humanitarian Scholarship 2027 is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for refugees and asylum seekers to study at a university in Australia. La Trobe University awards this scholarship to recognise the unique contributions of people from humanitarian backgrounds to Australian society and to provide financial support that enables them to fulfil their educational aspirations.
La Trobe University has announced two unique award programmes for the 2027 intake, the Domestic Humanitarian Award and the International Humanitarian Scholarship. The domestic scholarship provides a living allowance of AUD $5,000 per annum. The overseas scholarship provides a 100% tuition fee waiver and a cost of living scholarship of AUD $5,000 per annum.

Domestic Scholarship Eligibility
Applicants should:
- Be recognised as a refugee or an asylum seeker.
Have one of the following visas:
- Resolution of Status (subclass 851) visa
- Permanent Protection Visas
- Humanitarian visa (200, 201, 202, 203 or 204)
- Get an offer for an undergraduate course through VTAC.
- Enrol as a full-time student in semester 1, 2027.
Eligibility for International Scholarship
Applicants should:
- Be an Australian resident.
- Officially apply for the scholarship online.
- Must have one of the following types of visas:
- Temporary Protection Visa (Class TPV)
- Temporary Humanitarian Stay Visa (Subclass 449)
- Temporary Humanitarian Concern Visa (Subclass 786)
- Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (Subclass 790)
- Bridging Visa E (Class 051)
- Bridging visa awaiting a permanent protection visa (subclass 866)

Domestic Humanitarian Scholarship
Successful applicants will receive:
- AUD $5,000 per annum for living expenses.
- Funding for the normal length of their undergraduate course.
- Tuition fees are not covered by domestic scholarships.
International Humanitarian Scholarship
Successful applicants will receive:
- Full tuition fee support for the duration of their qualified undergraduate programme.
- AUD $5,000 per year towards living expenses.
- Financial help for the normal duration of their degree.
