Requirements for the ETH Zurich Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme

1. Excellent Academic Performance

• First of all, applicants should have performed excellently in their bachelor’s degree programme.

2. Admission to an Eligible Master’s Programme

• Second, students must apply to a standard master’s degree programme at ETH Zurich for the autumn semester of 2027.
• Therefore, applicants must fulfil the entrance requirements of the chosen Master’s programme.

3. Nationality

• Third, the ESOP is open to applicants both domestically and internationally. Students from outside Switzerland, e.g., students from Africa, Asia and elsewhere, are also invited to apply if they fulfil the academic and programme requirements.

4. Availability for an Interview

• Shortlisted candidates may be asked to participate in a telephone or video interview as part of the selection process.

5. Submission During the First Application Window

• Finally, applicants need to apply for their ESOP in the first master’s application window of ETH Zurich.

Documents Required for ETH Zurich Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Program

• First, the applicants have to fill in the online master’s application using the eApply site of ETH Zurich.
• Secondly, the selected programme requires academic transcripts and documentation of the bachelor’s degree.
• Thirdly, applicants should send an updated curriculum vitae (CV) with an active telephone number.
• Applicants also need to provide a pre-proposal of their master’s thesis, written according to the criteria of ETH Zurich.
• Applicants must submit two academic references only if the selected master’s programme requires reference letters.
• Finally, applicants must provide any other documentation that the selected master’s programme requests.
