Fully financed Knight-Hennessy Scholarships are available for graduate-level study at Stanford University in California, USA in 2023–24.
You must apply for this scholarship if you intend to graduate from a US university with a fully financed scholarship. For international students, the Knight-Hennessy Scholarship is recommended. You’ll be attending one of the greatest universities in the world to study.

Description of the scholarship:
From 2022 to 2023, Stanford University will host the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program. Foreign students interested in receiving a one-time relocation fee to aid with some of the costs of moving to the area and/or purchasing equipment can now apply to Stanford University’s Knight-Hennessy Scholars program 2022-2023.

These scholarships are given out by Stanford University to potential students each year. Selected individuals will be introduced to advanced learning in postgraduate programs as part of the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program 2022-2023, which will also provide doors to new and better opportunities.

Benefits of the scholarship
Knight-Hennessy Over their first three years of graduate school, scholars are eligible for a range of financial aid, including:
- A scholarship that is used to cover educational expenses
- A stipend to pay for accommodation, board, books, supplies, teaching aids, local transportation, and appropriate personal expenses, as well as living and educational costs.
- A travel reimbursement for one round-trip economy ticket to and from Stanford each year.

Financial Assistance with Attendance Costs
Stanford provides financial assistance to Knight-Hennessy scholars for up to three years of any graduate degree. The chosen scholars may use this funding toward the degree(s) they choose to pursue.
Knight-Hennessy Over their first three years of graduate school, scholars are eligible for a range of financial aid, including:
- a straight application for funding to cover tuition and other expenses
- a monthly allowance to help with living expenses and tuition (including housing and board, books, supplies for the classroom, teaching aids, local transportation, and appropriate personal expenses).
- a travel reimbursement intended to cover one round-trip economy airfare from and to Stanford per year.
Additional funds for particular years:
To assist with some of the costs of moving to the area and/or obtaining new technology, newly enrolled scholars are given a one-time relocation stipend.
Students in their second and third years can apply for additional money to support their academic enrichment activities (such as going to conferences).
The degree program for which funding will be provided by Knight-Hennessy Scholars (KHS) is specified in the initial KHS admittance letter. If they wish to enroll in a different graduate program, scholars may submit an application to KHS for additional funding for up to three years. These supplemental funds are not guaranteed.
If a scholar is accepted to a program lasting longer than three years, such as an MD, Ph.D., or Stanford dual- or joint-degree program, financing is decided by the graduate degree program’s standard funding commitment. The department and school have an impact on this, as seen in the chart below. Please contact them if you have any specific questions concerning their financing commitment for the graduate program.
Medical students:
The Medical School will cover the remaining years in accordance with its standard financial obligation to MD students, which comprises tuition support and a stipend.
What is excluded
Fellowship stipends are not subject to taxation, with the exception of international students from countries without tax treaties. Please study the tax information provided by the Vice Provost’s Office for Undergraduate Education in detail and make sure you budget for any tax liabilities. Tax refunds are not issued to students who receive Knight-Hennessy Scholarships.
