Job Description

Our multinational client who provides mechanical technologies and experts services within the mining sector across the globe requires an Inventory Manager. You will be working in a senior management capacity with a regional overview of operations within the organisation and will primarily work within the supply chain, sales, and mining service operations to develop stocking strategies to balance customer satisfaction and inventory utilization, collect data, define problems, establish facts and reports, and draw valid conclusions and serve as a liaison between sales organization, mining operations, and order fulfilment.

Job Title: Inventory Manager

Responsibilities include;

  • To begin with, Actively participate in SIOP forecasting process with Sales and Drilling Services.
  • Secondly, Generate both long and short-term demand plans through analysis and collaboration with the sales, marketing, and drilling operations teams.
  • Thirdly, Review issues and email requests regarding demand/orders, work with sales to adjust if necessary and capture changes as required in demand planning software.
  • Then, Analysing, reporting, and improving forecast accuracy both at the detail and aggregate level.
  • Also, Establish regular trend analysis reviews to challenge and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Moreover, Communicate regularly with Account managers, salespeople, and administration personnel to understand sales programs, customer expectations, and forecast validations.
  • Afterwards, Liaise regularly with Material managers and drilling operations to understand internal demand, programs, projects, etc.
  • Furthermore, Develop, monitor, and report performance metrics, reports, and dashboard to drive improvement plans or corrective actions.
  • Additionally, Generate monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports & metrics and respond to custom reports & queries to find root-cause and propose solutions.
  • Last but not least, Optimize inventory levels using statistical models to design reorder volumes.
  • Finally, Engage with Supply Chain, Operations, and Sales teams regularly to identify, coordinate, and resolve supply chain or capacity issues.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business administration, Logistics, or relevant field; a masters’ degree in related subjects will be a plus
  • Afterwards, Minimum of six (6) years of working experience in inventory management or in relevant roles.
  • Strong statistical, accounting/business analytics, or mathematics background.
  • Experience with inventory management systems (e.g., ERP) and demand planning software.
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis, inventory management, and forecasting methods.
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Office suite, particularly MS Excel.
  • Ability to interpret and summarize complex and large data sets and generate actionable reports.
  • Strong analytical mind and keen attention to details
  • Then, Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Lastly, Excellent time management skills
