POSITION: ASSISTANT PRODUCTION MANAGER
1. JOB PURPOSE
To assist the Production Manager to manage and control allocated resources of the Production Department for the manufacture of products to meet customers order requirements and quality standards on a timely basis within the policies, procedures, and budget of the organisation.
2. QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required: MSc Degree in Chemical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering/ Sciences with ten (10) years Industrial
Experience; Or BSc Degree in Chemical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering Sciences with fifteen (15) years Industrial Experience
MBA will be an added advantage.
Experience within a Batch Processing Production Environment with a wide product range.
Good knowledge and experience in Production Planning Software.
Desirable
1. Knowledgeable in and Management Systems.
Good Planning, Organisation, Communication, Interpersonal and Team Building Skills. IT Literate, Strong Technical Background with High Analytical and Interpretation Skills
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
I. Assist the Production Manager to ensure that the Plant is managed in line with ISO and
Company Standards such that the Designed Capacity is achieved
II. Liaise with Production Manager to develop Weekly and Monthly Production Schedules to ensure that Customers orders are delivered On Time and In Full
III Schedule production and supervise activities at the Plant ensuring that production is cost efficient, timely and that product specifications and quality standards are met.
IV. Ensure adequate stockholding of packaging materials within the Plant to forestall disruptions in production
Assist Production Manager to prepare Budgets for production and ensure efficient use of raw materials, monitor actuals against budget and analyse resultant variances
Liaise with Quality Assurance Department and Logistics & Distribution Department of the Company to provide needed services and logistics for the Production Department.
Coordinate with the Engineering Department to carry out regular & planned maintenance and repairs to ensure that the Plant is in good working condition
Prepare Periodic Production Statistics Reports for the Production Manager.
