Context of the Role

Main Duties
- Facilitate and oversee the attainment of service performance that surpasses customer expectations and sets DHL apart from its rivals.
- Engage with essential and strategically significant clients at the right level to guarantee customer retention, fostering growth and development of new business opportunities.
- Make certain that the yearly business plan, encompassing revenue, cash flow, profit, and service standards, is fulfilled, and take corrective measures to address any unfavorable deviations.
- Identify local tactical strategies that are consistent with regional and global plans and market strategies within the broader regional and global framework.
- Deliver effective leadership to guarantee that established strategies and objectives are conveyed and successfully executed.
- Support the regional guidance, making certain that local environmental elements are factored into the development of strategies and policies.
- Guarantee improvements in revenue generation and an increase in market share by means of development.
- Continuously observe the market, maintaining complete knowledge of competitor tactics and movements.
- Regularly assess and enhance business processes to boost efficiency and increase value for DHL services.
- Safeguard the company’s financial health from a legal, regulatory, and DHL management viewpoint.
- Enhance liquidity by effective management of capital and receivables.
- Develop and execute corrective measures to enhance service and transit time efficiency while controlling expenses.
- Identify the organizational structure of the country, along with roles, responsibilities, and performance objectives and targets.
- Oversee the distribution of suitable resources and dedication of personnel to meet Global, Regional cluster, and Country goals and targets.
- Deliver effective leadership, determine training requirements and opportunities, and cultivate a highly skilled operational workforce by regularly implementing CIS/CIM modules for employees, ensuring that Ghana DHL is an excellent workplace.
- Coordinate individuals and skills to achieve business goals and oversee employee skill sets and performance based on service demands and organizational requirements.
Minimum Standards
Education and Experience
- University diploma and pertinent commercial/business credentials.
- Extensive experience in upper management or overall management in the express/logistics/aviation sector or in comparable service-oriented companies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of all operational aspects of the business and substantial experience overseeing a full Profit and Loss division of comparable size.
- Strong business insight and comprehension of the external economic landscape and its potential impact on DHL’s short-term and long-term strategies.
- Outstanding leader and inspirer of individuals who demonstrates remarkable DHL leadership qualities.
