Meridian Seeds is Looking for a Sales Officer
Duties
Store Administration
- Will make sure that the store is adequately stocked at all times.
- Will maintain inventory records of all seeds assigned to the store.
- Must guarantee that the seeds are maintained in secure conditions that do not harm their viability.
- Will maintain the cleanliness of the store and make sure that items are correctly organized and displayed.
- Will guarantee that every business asset in the store is secured and functioning properly at all times. These will consist of air conditioners, computers, furniture, fittings, and fixtures, among others.
- Will oversee the management of petty cash allocated to the shop.
- Will represent Meridian Seeds in every meeting held at the shop complex and provide updates to the administration.
Sales and Marketing Duties
- Will seek potential customers through farmer gatherings, exhibitions, social gatherings (e.g., WhatsApp groups, Facebook, e-commerce platform of the company, emails and SMS, presentations, etc.)
- Will create sales forecasts and inventory plans for the store.
- Then, will oversee the company’s sales operations in Accra.
- Will guarantee that cash/Momo sales income is safely stored and deposited in the bank.
- Will guarantee that every seed sale can be linked to invoices, receipts, and sales record books.
- Will build and oversee connections with clients and stakeholders (such as NGOs, etc.).
- Also, will maintain records, such as customer contacts and emails, for post-sales assistance and upcoming promotions.
Additional technical duties
- Monitor all appointments, sales, complaints, status updates, etc., carefully for the manager assessment.
- Will regularly perform germination tests to verify that seeds are appropriate for sale.
- Will document and examine customer grievances and report findings to management.
- Lastly, will present monthly reports to the Operations Manager.
Required Skills or Experience
- Agricultural College or Marketing Certificate or similar credentials.
- Some experience in Agriculture is an extra benefit.
- Must possess IT literacy.
- Excellent customer service abilities.
- Driven, motivated mindset (Sales-oriented, results-oriented, and target-oriented mindset).
- Capability to achieve and/or surpass monthly and quarterly sales targets.
