The Chief Engineer oversees the upkeep and servicing of the hotel premises, landscape, and assets in a budget-friendly way, guaranteeing the effective and safe functioning of all machinery and equipment according to Hilton and hotel guidelines and standards.
What actions will I be taking?
In your role as Chief Engineer, you will be tasked with executing the following duties to the utmost quality:
- Organize and execute various engineering, management, and maintenance tasks.
- Support the Director of Engineering (DOE) in managing the Engineering department effectively.
- Develop and execute duty schedules, perform maintenance tasks, and facilitate a seamless duty handover.
- Offer support to the DOE in their absence.
- Oversee the Engineering store and the energy conservation team.
- Oversee the M&E system, as well as the repair and upkeep of equipment.
- Organize staff training, assess and enhance employee performance.
Oversee the upkeep and security of hotel facilities.
- Implement energy management, environmental conservation, fire safety, and security controls.
- Ensure that the daily operations of the Engineering department function efficiently.
- Conduct comprehensive building assessments to guarantee superior quality of repairs and maintenance while ensuring compliance with established standards.
- Evaluate all machinery and guarantee effective output and technological oversight of equipment upkeep.
- Review technical documents and verify all daily reports to confirm safe and normal functioning of all equipment.
- Organize work intensity efficiently to guarantee optimal productivity and balanced labor.
- Carry out repair maintenance and guarantee an efficient maintenance program.
- Stay in touch with the Banquet department to stay updated on the event needs to be ready.
- Arrange regular work reports to enhance the productivity of the Engineering department.
- Design and execute multi-skill development programs for employees to enhance productivity and quality.
- Implement efficient oversight on Engineering stock purchases to reduce waste and enhance cost savings.
- Review water quality reports and guarantee the provision of high-quality water from the water treatment facility.
- Collaborate with the Security team, conduct fire safety and prevention meetings, and ensure the fire prevention system operates effectively.
- Track energy consumption, compile statistics on usage, and implement energy-saving strategies.
- Maintain communication with local officials to address associated issues.
- Ensure effective communication with other departments to create a productive communication network among various teams.
- Utilize materials effectively, reduce waste, and ensure eco-friendliness.
What are we searching for?
A Chief Engineer for Hilton Brands consistently advocates for our Guests while collaborating with other Team Members. To effectively fulfill this position, you should embody the mindset, actions, abilities, and principles listed below:
- Bachelor’s degree student.
- Skilled in English to fulfill business requirements.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in hotel/building services or other relevant engineering areas.
- Minimum of 3 years in a Chief Engineer role or 5 years as an Assistant Chief Engineer at a 5-star hotel.
- Possess expert knowledge in water treatment, hydraulics, mechanics, chillers, airflows, H.V.A.C., L.V., electronics, audio, television, lighting, elevators, boilers, pumps, etc.
- Able to maintain all hotel facility services, including air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, electrical installations, lighting systems, plumbing systems, boilers, laundry, kitchens, elevators, fire protection, escalators, sound systems, TV systems, etc.
- Have an understanding of government regulation demands and technical standards.
- Able to adhere to guidelines for hotel services.
- Have an understanding of energy conservation.
- Able to train members of the Engineering Team.
