Job Title: Country Manager, Ghana
About the Position:
The Country Manager in Ghana will lead NRGI initiatives, promoting transparency and accountability in the mining of transition minerals and energy transition. This role involves advocating for NRGI at events and in the media, overseeing program implementation, and collaborating with key stakeholders, including governments, civil society, and donors, to influence reforms and best practices. Reporting to the Deputy Africa Director, the Country Manager will leverage expertise in Ghana’s extractives sector to support advocacy, capacity development, and technical initiatives, while fostering relationships with senior stakeholders to enhance management strategies in the sector.
The employee will embody and reflect NRGI’s principles of diligence, teamwork, enthusiasm, honesty, and influence
Specifications
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in management, advocacy, project management, policy reform, and leadership roles.
- Experience in managing programs within international development.
- A minimum of 5 years in the extractive sector, governance, or similar areas.
- Long-term strategic planning with a focus on a 3–5-year timeframe.
- Thorough comprehension of natural resource management, energy transition, fossil fuel regulation, and transition minerals.
- Capacity to establish and impact strategic connections at project, national, and regional tiers.
- Experience in intricate settings facilitating systemic transformation across government, private industry, media, legislature, and civil society.
- Adept at offering technical support regarding policy and business matters.
- Able to provide training and capacity building to various stakeholders.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing resources and donor grants.
Qualifications and Experience
- Preferred qualifications include a postgraduate degree in political science, economics, law, international relations, or a similar field.
- Or, a bachelor’s degree along with 10 years of pertinent experience.
