POSITION: Librarian
Job Description

Duties:
- Gathering and organizing library materials such as books, movies, and periodicals.
- Assisting individuals in finding reference and leisure reading resources.
- Keeping library records current and accurate.
- Conducting routine checks of the data and inventory is documented.
- Instructing users on how to effectively find information through the library’s databases.
- Overseeing budget management, project planning, and staff operations.
- Supervising the checkout procedure for books and other reference materials.
- Coordinating and conducting book sales, author signings, and various reading events.
- Explaining the utilization of library facilities and sharing details regarding library regulations.
- Making certain the library caters to the specific requirements of distinct user groups, such as postgraduate students and students with disabilities.
Required Skills or Experience
The subsequent criteria are the essential qualifications for the librarian role at GIU International Christian Academy; please be aware that the school will automatically disqualify any candidate who fails to fulfill the stated minimum criteria:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Studies from an accredited institution in Ghana or overseas is required at a minimum;
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience in a school library, university library, or public library;
- Possess understanding of or familiarity with the Cambridge International Education framework.
